Larger than the will of any individual, the totality of modern human society is simultaneously one constituted by our actions yet also a gestalt entity obeying an emergent logic of its own. Constellations of processes and events act in discordant symphony largely blind to each other, while together they constitute a distributed machine serving solely itself at the price of human abjection. Conceivable solely as an abstraction, but concrete to the very core of human objectivity, this totality is profoundly human in origin but absolutely alien to our needs. Its very shape is contingent upon the trajectory of history from which it emerged, a trajectory which is now dislodged and savagely dragged along as the totality cycles itself blindly forward in time, obeying nothing other than the immanent logic of capital. Ignorance of totality matters not to it, as those who possess knowledge of its contours are no less objects to its continual unfolding.
The horizon of its trajectory offers a fractal vision of futures such as ecological collapse, mass refugee crises, escalating pandemics, genocide, and more. Like the shards of a kaleidoscope, these morph in and out of each other, their causes and consequences all intertwined with the horrors of this perpetual unfolding of global capitalism. To grasp this all as a human is to accept it, for there is little else one can do.

Presenting my HYPERGLITCH series EP - Multiverse! 

I am beyond excited to share this with you, as it has been in the works for quite a while now! A huge thanks and a shoutout to Woulg for curating the HYPERGLITCH series and giving us this opportunity. I am honored to be a part of it! As well as a huge thanks to Detroit Underground for taking the series further!

"Melancholy isn't just a feeling in this album, it's a taste, it's a texture, a shroud that encompasses you while you listen. Abroxis has an incredible talent of pulverizing you with heavy, lumbering beats and basses and somehow pulling you out of your body and letting you float over top of it all with his synth lines. This album is really a synthesis of the brutal and the beautiful. It's a sort of emulsion of the two in a way that seems almost impossible. It reminds me of that type of silence; the type you only hear in the worst situations. When time slows down. When the driver loses control of the car on the highway. Swerving from left to right as he overcorrects. There isn't enough time to really think anything, you know he's going too fast. There's that moment where you feel frozen. It's the moment where you know what is about to happen, but it hasn't happened yet, and you're trapped just waiting for it. That's when time slows to a stop for a moment. That's when the silence really settles in. Abroxis has somehow crystallized that feeling into the sound of an entire album. 

I think a core aspect of everything that I tend to think of as "hyperglitch" has a taste of this melancholy, but with Abroxis, it's really on full display. There's something unique about the way that really elaborate, intricate and at the same time brutalizing sound design can describe the sort of helpless violence that can accompany a deep sadness. And the sadness, despondency and apathy can be depicted so accurately with exactly the types of textural, hyper-detailed synth manipulation that is on display in Multiverse."

The second single from Slace's debut EP – SSD.

Full release 11.26.21

After his debut single, "qcpyhn2," on Renraku's compilation REALTIME (released February of this year), Slace presents his debut EP, SSD. Scheduled to release November 26th on digital platforms, SSD expands on his maiden voyage with Renraku and explores even more range. Abstract voyages of musique concrète and ambient are run through various genre blends between bass, IDM, halftime, and glitch. The music evolves at the blink of an eye, full of unhinged time signatures and mutated sounds in every measure.

Equipped with synths and Ableton, isolation from society in great parts led to a majority of the vibe felt on SSD, creating the EP over the last year while dealing with depression, existential crisis, agoraphobia, and a breakup. The innovation of electronic sound from artists like Tsuruda, EPROM, and Little Snake are felt across the heavier moments of the EP, while the drifting hypnotic mysticism of sounds from the likes of Loscil and William Basinski plant their feet into the EP by its end. A bold statement of shock and awe dynamics that goes beyond convention and relies heavily on emotional impact and sheer adventure.
