I couldn't help it and i can't deny how good it sounds. this is just an edit to play on my dj sets, and i played it once and everybody wanted it right away. Honestly i was gonna wait to see if Solange or her team or whoever works for her wouldve ask me to do an offical remix so if they still want to, i could make it sound better than that version but ohhhhh, what the hell....
anyways i highly recommend you that new Solange album "A Seat At The Table".

New York City disco party freaks @kaviardiscoclub Club are planning to inject their flavor into the vinyl game. The label (which shares the same branding as the event collective) is kicking things off with a four track V/A showcasing cuts from Philly and NYC based producers, including @JacquesRenault of Let's Play House (@lphnyc) fame, as well as Matpat, Evan Michael and co-founder Higgins (@higginsaudio). The imprint - both for this release and going forward - aims to curate slick, New York style disco vibes from regional producers.

For today's premiere, we take on Jacques' "You're Gonna Want Me Back". It's NYC disco all the way, with the neat edit of Delia Renee brandishing a silky string section and funky bass and guitar licks reminiscent of late 70's/early 80's disco/postdisco jams (think Solar and Prelude). Renault bumps the tempo and bolsters the drums to a house-ier fit for his flip, cleverly teasing in vocals while maintaining extended instrumental sections as the focus. It's a tasty cut that's sure to sit nicely as a later night groover.

The remainder of the EP is equally solid. Matpat's soulful "Searchin'" rounds out the A-Side with a vibey and cleverly-chopped arrangement suited for warm, breezy evenings. On the flip, Evan Michael takes things to boogie territory with "Just Like That". A mean bassline gets looped and filtered nicely before bringing the disco house arrangement into full swing, with vocal snips and saxophone being sprinkled smartly on. Label bossman Higgins handles closing duties on the record via "Goodtimes", a groovy clav and synth-led slammer with an irresistible electroboogie bassline.

All four edits on the release are expertly orchestrated for maximum effect on the dancefloor. If you're looking for well-curated, feel-good and beefy four to the floor jams: well, you've found the right record. KDC001 hits stores March 6th at an array of major vinyl retailers. Jump on it!

In 2016 London Elektricity took on a huge challenge, to step back in front of the crowd not only as a DJ but also as a live musician. With Hospitality moving leaps and bounds over the past decade, growing into a huge 10,000 capacity festival in London’s Finsbury Park, it was the perfect time for Tony Colman to transform his signature jazz infused drum & bass into a spectacular live big brass band styled performance.

It was the highlight of Hospitality In The Park 2016. Electric vibrations ran through everyone in the tent - Tony Colman shredded his bass guitar, jazz legend Liane Carroll and new discovery Emers’ vocals soared with style and finesse, members of the Riot Jazz collective uplifted the drum & bass tempo all led by the never ending energy of our resident Dynamite MC.

The ‘Live In The Park’ LP reminisces back to this unforgettable hour with 10 tracks seamlessly running through London Elektricity classics, new material and a surprising cover.

“The LE Big Band show at Finsbury Park was actually our first ever gig. I had no idea what to expect at all. When our set time came around all 20 of us set up, I plugged in and off we went. the hour flew by in a blur, but the crowd went totally mental, and we were on fire. To hear my music played by a big band was an honour - to be part of that big band was amazing. Bobby "Blue" Bland, the debonair balladeer whose sophisticated, emotionally fraught performances helped modernize the blues, died on Sunday at his home in Germantown, Tenn., a suburb of Memphis. He was 83. 

Bobby was an original member of the Beale Streeters, and was sometimes referred to as the "Lion of the Blues". Along with such artists as Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, and Junior Parker, Bland developed a sound that mixed gospel with the blues and R&B. An imitator of Frank Sinatra, he was also known as the "Sinatra of the blues"; his music was also influenced by Nat King Cole.

Mr. Bland’s synthesis of Southern vernacular music and classy big-band arrangements made him a stylistic pioneer, but whatever he accomplished by way of formal innovation ultimately derived from his underlying faith in the emotional power of the blues. 

“I’d like to be remembered as just a good old country boy that did his best to give us something to listen to and help them through a lot of sad moments, happy moments, whatever,” he said in a 2009 interview with the syndicated “House of Blues Radio Hour.” 

“Whatever moments you get of happiness, use it up, you know, if you can, because it don’t come that often.” 

Bland was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.
