Thomas Abbott, professionally known as Reclusivity, is a Canadian alternative rock musician hailing from Oshawa, Ontario. A multi-instrumentalist with a rich musical background, Thomas began his journey with guitar lessons at the age of five, eventually mastering nearly every instrument he picked up. His formal education in Music & Digital Media from St. Lawrence College provided him with the technical foundation to develop his distinctive sound, which is a blend of shredding guitars, thudding drums, and thick, gritty bass lines.

Reclusivity's music is deeply personal, drawing from Thomas's own experiences with chronic mental health struggles and insecurities. His sound is characterized by dark, dissonant tones and raw, emotionally charged lyrics that resonate with a wide range of listeners. Inspired by a fluctuating emotional perception of human behavior, his music reflects the complexities of life through a lens of angst and introspection.

 

The project "Reclusivity" has been years in the making, with material that Thomas began working on even before high school. His upcoming debut album, "Wavelengths," is a culmination of these years of effort, offering a powerful blend of grunge, noise, hardcore, and alternative rock. With plans for future releases, Reclusivity is poised to make a significant impact on the alternative rock scene, delivering music that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.
