This is my final remake track in my Jak and Daxter Rescored series. The original soundtrack was made by Josh Mancell for Naughty Dog's game, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. By the way, I found out this year is the 20th anniversary of the series - here's to one of the best game trilogies of all time! :)

This one was a friggin' blast to make, definitely my favorite so far of the Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy tracks in my Rescored series. I had a little too much fun with the koto and references to other songs in the series - can you pick them out?

From here on, I intend to explore remaking some of the songs from the other games in the series. There's one in Daxter and a few in Jak II and Jak 3 I've been thinking about. Please look forward to them!

Last night's SMD listeners wanted it, so here we go - a full symphonic medley of tunes from the second game in the Jak and Daxter series!

(and then it goes back to a variation of Haven City for the reprise).

When I got started on Youtube, I often uploaded symphonic covers of games I personally enjoyed, getting inspired by the wonderful arrangements done for Video Games Live.  The only issue is, I grew to dislike them more over time because it's not at all a style strong enough to put me on the map AND the sound patches I had came from my PSR keyboard - not at all ideal!

However, when looking back over my old arrangements, the Jak II medley that I uploaded on YT back in 2008-ish stood out mostly due to the little expansions I ended up giving to it, not to mention it felt as if we were telling a story from Jak's 2-year imprisonment through to the final resolution of the city's conflicts.

And then came the last bit of inspiration - April Fool's Day happening on a Friday this year.  I wanted to fit in some Jak within the PlayStation-themed setlist I had on that week's SEGA Mixer Drive (briefly re-named DONNIE Mixer Drive for that day) and over the space of a few days, I finally took the old MIDI project file and re-built the 'synthetic orchestra' from the ground up.  And that's what we got!

So yeah.  Happy belated April Fool's Day, and enjoy the arrangement again! x)
