Woo! I'm back after a long hiatus with a new track from my Jak and Daxter Rescored series! Get your winter coats, because this time we're headed to Snowy Mountain. 

This one was a nice change from the previous tracks I've remastered, as it's slower and more ominous sounding. I loved this level so much when I was young, especially because - iirc - you can look back at where you've been so far during the journey from the mountaintop. I also remember the sleigh bells feeling so perfect for the time, as I'd gotten a PS2 and this game for Christmas that year and played it nonstop as the snow raged outside. :D

I only have about one or two more tracks in this series before I tackle some Jak II tracks. The next one should be a bit longer - I'm so excited for it! A hint: epic boss.

Last night's SMD listeners wanted it, so here we go - a full symphonic medley of tunes from the second game in the Jak and Daxter series!

(and then it goes back to a variation of Haven City for the reprise).

When I got started on Youtube, I often uploaded symphonic covers of games I personally enjoyed, getting inspired by the wonderful arrangements done for Video Games Live.  The only issue is, I grew to dislike them more over time because it's not at all a style strong enough to put me on the map AND the sound patches I had came from my PSR keyboard - not at all ideal!

However, when looking back over my old arrangements, the Jak II medley that I uploaded on YT back in 2008-ish stood out mostly due to the little expansions I ended up giving to it, not to mention it felt as if we were telling a story from Jak's 2-year imprisonment through to the final resolution of the city's conflicts.

And then came the last bit of inspiration - April Fool's Day happening on a Friday this year.  I wanted to fit in some Jak within the PlayStation-themed setlist I had on that week's SEGA Mixer Drive (briefly re-named DONNIE Mixer Drive for that day) and over the space of a few days, I finally took the old MIDI project file and re-built the 'synthetic orchestra' from the ground up.  And that's what we got!

So yeah.  Happy belated April Fool's Day, and enjoy the arrangement again! x)
