Since the launch of their exciting new solo imprint, Hybrid Theory have been on somewhat of a tearout, smashing together the label’s first two official releases with a collection of absolute firecrackers. They are back to business straight away however as they ready up to unveil HT003, featuring another pair of original heaters.  

 

When discussing Hybrid Theory, the word consistency seems to pop up on a pretty regular basis and it is completely valid. Through a combination of their own releases and work behind the scenes at Four40 Records, the duo have been on an incredibly vibrant run.  

 

They continue that on this new release’s A-side, with a track entitled ‘Make It Drip’. This one is most certainly one for the ravers as the Hybrid Theory sound is extended to a more American-influenced take on UK bass music, with this one focussing on bouncy rolling kick drums and sweeping moogy sub tones, topped off with a selection of catchy vocal slices.  

 

The B-side for this one provides us with a fantastic box of energy, as ‘Rekki Dub’ is unleashed. This one takes a very different approach, honing in on a very up-to-date UK bassline sound. From the shuffling drum selections to the explosive synthesizer slaps of the lead bass instrument, this one is a serious party starter, make no mistake about that!

We are back once again on The 3000 Network, exploring the constantly evolving sounds of bass music around the world. For today’s drop, we leap across the sea to Perth, Australia, as we take in a spicy new number from HY-PHEN.

The track itself again sees us continue down a much more tech-inspired route as HY-PHEN unleashes wave after wave of vibrant bass design, allowing the synthesizers to slap freely amongst a super groovy set of drum designs and rhythmic arrangements. It’s another perfect addition to the 3000 Bass catalogue!
