Dr. Balafon c’est un hommage à Soro Zana un des plus grands constructeurs
et réparateur de balafon (xylophone en bois) dans le nord de la Côte d'Ivoire.

En novembre 2022, Praktika a demandé au balafoniste burkinabé Innocent
Kimpe de venir le rejoindre 15 jours à Korhogo (nord Côte D’ivoire) pour
commencer la création de son prochain album.
En s’inspirant du balafon en territoire Sénoufo, les deux musiciens font la
rencontre de Soro Zana. Après plusieurs visites à son atelier, l’inspiration
donne naissance à la première musique de l’album: Un son techno jazzy qui
groove, grâce aux mélodies rythmiques du balafon.
