The story behind the mix:

"The Manhattan Projject's mix for I-Voice came at a time that's been the most intense and surreal time period in our lives. This mix is our way of incapsulating life in this marvel of a city we live in, in 2 hours or less; while in the first hour also expresssing and telling the world an emotional story of love, heartbreak, hope and sadness  all mixed together as a result of Kev's tunnel vision which overtook him in his constant pursuit of his and Chris' efforts of building Stranjjur and all of it's artists to where it is today (which is still far from where the mission shall soon take the label) . 

This "tunnel vision " which helped propel Stranjjur over the past year unfortunately also nearly broke his world into pieces after several sleepless nights of digging and building his segment of the mix; which caused the entire mix itself to take an entirely new direction of it's own.

The mix begins on a positive note and slowly bares the truth of the struggles all musicians or artists often face in the ever-present struggle to balance the world of creativity and artistry between real life and the personal relationships that also make our lives all-so-important. Despite the downfalls, the story eventuallly tells that love does indeed prevail and does indeed "love comes back to you, like a boomarang" as you'll hear toward the end of hour 1, in an edited version of Masomenos & Lemos' "Saint Jacut" which features dOP's Jaw on vocals. 

In the mix, Manhattan Projject tells a realtime, truthful story of the lives we embark upon each day in the best city in the world. The city of hope; miracles and the city that is and always will be an ongoing Projject of growth, prosperity, dreams and despair like. We speak to you our 2 week story in our most proficient languages: the languages of music and love.

Feel Manhattan; this is the Big Apple and its as real as we could make it , with pressures of wedding, running our label, agency, studio and remix obligations, interviews with press and... this podcast.

We spent a great deal of time and effort in the engineering, mixing, editing and overall composition of this mix; hour 1 was mixed by Kev Obrien and dedicated to his then fiancee (and now wife as of 11.11.12) Anna; hour 2 is mixed by Chris Luzz and the set as a whole also incorporates many field recordings of the duo's daily lives in and around the Big Apple, including bits and pieces of Mayor Bloomberg's often comical press conference blurbs which occured during the recent Hurricane that unfortunately wreaked much havoc on our humble little city, that is the ever-growing and building  Projject, that is: Manhattan.

@kev-obrien and @chrisluzz collaborated together as Manhattan Projject until 2014. They were also co-owners of <a href="http://facebook.com/stranjjur">Stranjjur Imprint</a>  and now own their own individual labels, Chris' label is @wearelittlegiant and Kev's new label is @eyedyllic ! Together, however, they still DJ together and will be working on new material. They have also launched a new webzine together dedicated to digging deeper into the world of electronic music @diggndeeprmag !
