Manhattan Projject is the production duo comprised of  NYC's @stranjjur label heads <a href="http://soundcloud.com/kev-obrien">Kev Obrien</a> and <a href="http://soundcloud.com/chrisluzz">Chris Luzz</a>

The projject was formed as an outlet for the duo's collaborations, as well as a way to utilize the sounds of NYC and incorporate the City that Never Sleeps into musical form, via the hundreds of hours of live field recordings in which they record on a daily basis during their treks and adventures through both the seediest and most upscale areas that New York City so graciously offers an extreme abundance of. The sounds and feeling of Gotham may not be thrown in your face immediately upon listening to a Manhattan Projject song, or DJ set; but by listening carefully to most of Kev and Chris' collaborative output... you'll begin hearing the sounds of New York City cleverly arranged, and often utilized in ways that are impossible to identify, such as turning a city bus' exhaust pipe into a shuffling high hat, or retuning the J-train's exit doors into a floating melody (such as was done on their Ibiza-Voice Podcast mix).

Manhattan Projject currently operates out of their Brooklyn-based studio, in the creative mecca of East Williamsburg/Bushwick -- which is located in the same hallway as artists such as M A N I K, Walker & Royce and other Brooklyn-bred artists who've become household names in recent years.

Between the two's discography, they've recorded and released EPs and remixes on labels such as their own imprint, Stranjjur; as well as Mazi's label Fresh Meat (Chicago), i Records, Mother Recordings, Loco Records, Save Room, SK Supreme and many more. Their productions have been played and supported on BBCRadio1, John Digweed's Transitions, charted by Jamie Jones; licensed to Ministry of Sound, HedKandi,,,, and all this has transpired during a time when they've released very little material. In summer 2013, the hiatus comes to an end - and Manhattan Projject will truly break ground and make it's presence known across the world.
