10 Valve Theme [Long Version]

A "tune" that came into existence when Mick Rippon send me a sketch for a melody, on which I, Jeroen Tel, evolved on within Renoise (Renoise is a music tracker (the best in the world) for those who don't know). I send it to Zubareus, a brilliant guitarist from Russia to add a magic guitar solo. I mixed it all together and this track was born. So, again, I proudly present another co-op between friends. Track composed for a friend who killed himself by not wanting to live anymore, but was full of life whilst he was alive (that's the only way I can describe it unfortunately!)

I have always loved long progressive tracks from the likes of BT, Sunday Club and Sasha who've have made tracks well over 10 minutes. You don't hear that much anymore and I was wondering why is that..? I ended up thinking that it's the 2014 EDM culture which has made DJs so visible stage performers that (at least in DJs' heads) there is a need to do something actively when playing and that has lead into two minute quick mixing and sets loaded with mashups. 

Don't get me wrong: I understand that in a big room/festival setting that works very well, but I also believe that many people still enjoy longer progressions and tracks with many parts flowing seamlessly from one to another. I wanted to try to make a track like that: epic intro, deep & groovy build up part, emotive breakdown, driving D part, uplifting peak moment and percussion driven outdo. Hope you like it :)

Zoids revisited

At long last me and Gammer get round to collaborating, and not end up spending the day playing Counter-Strike or watching Youtube videos. Being the uber nerds that we are, and seeing as we had stopped playing computer games for five minutes to write some music, we decided to go the chip tune route but in a "so over the top ridiculous way that it hasn't been done before" kind of fashion.

We spent pretty much as much time on the 8 bit breakdowns as the rest of the track. All wrapped around a classic feel good hardcore riff. Hope you enjoy!
