The massive &#8216;Free Your Mind&#8217; by label boss Da Fresh and Maverickz have been widely met by everyone with a pair of headphones and a love for this great production. In this release by Freshin is a special pack of remixes. The first remix comes by the Ukrainian superstar Spartaque, and this production is nothing less but the definition of techno. Starting off with a hammering bass drum and aggressive percussion alongside the light melody sprinkles all over. Solid work here. Following is the remix by Adrian Hour. The track is full of this devastating bassline mixed up nicely with percussion elements. Next comes the remix by the duo Seedy Jazz and Eeemus, if deep and dark is your taste, then this remix it fits perfectly for you. Quirky sounds and a nasty but dirty beat with a minimal bassline all over the foreground, make this one a killer. Closing is the remix by Rom1 and this track moves into a lighter ground. Keeping the bassline from the vocal pass, plus the low-end melody goes almost in silent except for the low thumping bass drum. Dark feelings all over this. It is a perfect package of remixes, every production is unique and peak time material, so choose carefully. This is an excellent release by Freshin till the next one.

Having caught the ears of Techno’s great and good with their recently released Custom Illusion EP, Manic Brothers return to the Drumcode stable with this two-track release for Drumcode Ltd. Continuing the elegantly industrial aesthetic of the Custom Illusion EP, Komplex comes over dreamlike but purposeful with its linear groove and melodic washes morphing through subtle progressions as the intensity is steadily tweaked upwards. Soul Connection goes for a more in-your-face approach on the flip with resounding pads echoing each other to create a distinctive groove that is driven along on a perpetual wave of slamming beats.

Gregor Tresher thunders back with his second solo EP for Drumcode. Gregor has been busy throughout 2012 with lots of new material and remixes being released on Cocoon, Ovum and Music Man and has released lots of new music and remixes on his very own imprint, Break New Soil. Break New Soil was launched in 2009 and has gone from strength-to-strength. Highly regarded within the tech- house world, the imprint has releases from the likes of Bart Skils, Karotte, Dosem and Gregor himself. DJ’ing across the world every week to packed out clubs and rocking the party deep into the early hours of any morning, he knows how to work a crowd.

Gregor has delivered four outstanding tracks for Drumcode that are creative, whilst still functional. Relevance uses a filtered, bubbling synth line and sparse percussion effectively to build a groove that will rip through any club. System X uses a detuned synth stab and an unusual bass line harmoniously to construct a track that sounds like its from out of space. Secura is a straight-laced techno groover that uses some distinctively unfamiliar sounds. The track is gelled together with a repetitive hum sound that adds to the groove. The fourth track on the EP; Call To Arms, uses a melodic rhythmic sequence and reverberated drums to eloquently smash any dancefloor.

Techno at it&#8217;s finest ! This is exactly the case with this release on Respekt Recordings by the label bosses Spektre! The original mix of &#8216;Erase The Tapes&#8217; builds with the trademark by Spektre while smooth dark drums and atmospheric elements are all over in this techno journey. The remix by Jon Rundell uses a hard drum loop providing by a smooth bassline. At the end Luigi Madonna takes control and that works just right in keeping the techno groove going. Not too much to say for this monster release by Spektre.
