Snug Harbor's first full-length release is this self-titled funk classic.  Produced in the northwest corner of the US, this music captures the live energy, positive experiences and raw energy of the Pacific Northwest.

Snug Harbor is a 7-piece contemporary funk-soul ensemble.  'Snug Harbor' was released in May of 2011.  It was recorded at Fastback Studios in Seattle on Jan 5, 6 and 7 and supplemental recording at Fairhaven Studios in Bellingham, WA on Jan 9 by engineer Chris Vita.  'Snug Harbor was mixed by Vita Mastering and Mastered by Gud Elg and Sky Onion in Portland, OR.  Thank you to Bison Bookbinding and Letterpress, Andy and Lindsey at Blank Studio and Rocketrom for the incredible artwork, layouts, paper and printing.  This album was produced using 100% local materials.

Austin native Somatoast returns with his second Gravitas album release, ‘Goop’, available now on all digital outlets. No stranger to the experimental and psychedelic realms of electronic music, Mark Rubin draws on IDM and glitch influences to provide a seven track sonic thrill ride full of visceral soundscapes and alluring melodies. Intricate sound design is his hallmark, and with finesse he effortlessly incorporates his refined palette into both dubby and downtempo frameworks.

‘Goop’ begins with “Nodus Tollens”, a smooth and laid back opener with heavy focus on ominous ambiance. The futuristic concoction “Obscurity Security” comes next, chock full of cosmic textures which perfectly set the tone for the entire album. Wonky and upbeat, “Polytricks” resets the pace before diving into the dreamy title track, a silky creation sure to send you adrift through the galaxy. “Spunning Song” builds on the celestial theme and injects velvety, groovy basslines for a funky and fluid finish. The last original offering on the album, “Robot Rain Drops”, is at times sensual and seductive, but the blissful flow is interrupted with upbeat sections peppered throughout. Wrapping up the release, remixing artist Zonra layers his abstract atmospheric style over the already sturdy foundation provided by Somatoast for his take on “Goop”.
