Proponents of techstep rejoice; Deception Recordings has remastered six tracks from the golden age of drum and bass, including two never-before-released cuts. For the first time, all six tracks will be universally accessible and available on digital platforms. Label boss Manifest provides the opening track, Never 2 Far (featuring Lisa Viva). Ethereal vocals, dystopian digital effects, dissonant pads, weighty 808s and crunchy breaks are the order of business here. This behemoth of a track still hits as hard as it did over 20 years ago. 
Inside My Soul comes courtesy of Outerlimits. Crisp and bouncy two-step drums are matched with moody vocals and a thunderous bassline to create a dark, hypnotic, and fresh techy roller. 
Manifest returns with Dub War Pt. 1. Clash-ready ragga vocals pair with shuffling syncopated drums and an unrelenting slew off 808s. This one is a certified dancefloor damager.

Unreleased up until now, Manifest and Soulphonics are responsible for Oldskool. As the name suggests, musical references to the past abound. Think raw breaks, resampled pads, dubbed out effects, and booming 808s. Crunchy drums, jazzy Rhodes chords, and a rolling bassline form the backbone of 5 Boros (another track by Manifest) to create another quality techstep cut. It’s no secret that MC Fats was a true legend in the drum and bass scene. He wasn’t in it for the fame or the recognition; he was driven by his love for the music and the community. Whether in the studio, on a small stage in a dark club, or performing in front of thousands at a festival, Fats always brought his authentic self to the table. His messages of unity, positivity, and resilience resonated deeply, reminding listeners of the power of music to heal, uplift, and unite.

Though he’s no longer with us, MC Fats leaves behind an unforgettable legacy that lives on through his music and the indelible mark he left on drum and bass.

Natural Way was the last track Fats and Break made together, and became a seminal tune in the DnB scene. After Fats' passing, Break worked on a heartfelt intro for a VIP version to play at a tribute night at the beloved Sun & Bass festival. That version was expanded on to become this fully realised new remix.

being an integral part of the Renegade Hardware Crew, BTK, Cold Fusion and Manifest join forces for a three-way collaboration EP on Deception Recordings. ‘Daybreak’ and ‘Surge’ are guaranteed to cause dancefloor
annihilation and on first listen it’s easy to hear the history between each of the three artists. 

Beginning the first of two tracks is ‘Daybreak’. With heavy drum work, the type of which give the track a serious weight as it crashes into fruition, you become instantly aware of the power which all three artists conjure when they put together their undeniable production standards. Bit by bit you’re taken along for the titanic ride, one engineered with gyrating hooks and a bassline which cuts through the mix undeterred. There’s also intricacy within its madness and before long you’re fully taken along for the ride.

Next up you’re welcomed into the world of ‘Surge’. Following its forerunner, the thumping kick drums punch
through the composition, building layer by layer until it becomes impossible to escape from the freight-train like qualities of this track; it’s one which ensures it never steers away from being the top quality you’d expect from these producers.
