Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. A photographer by trade who is fatally obsessed with music and rhythm. A fanatic for unprofitable hobbies.

Q. How long have you been a part of the NY music scene?
A. I've been participating in the NY music scene since I moved here in 2012. Often as a photographer and spectator, or dancer. I started to explore DJ'ing more recently, in 2018, though I really began to come into my own in 2022 while co-founding Dust & Nausea with my pals. Missing it madly!

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. This mix is admittedly a bit old-school, mostly comprised of Birmingham tracks and the like. Can't seem to escape my obsession with that grey, overcast sound that's supported by some of the most infectious industrial rhythms and vocal samples. There's some house influence in there from the User tracks too. It's an incredibly emotional sound for me and this mix is my attempt to make some sense of it.

This paradox I experience often, but it is something I censor. Manifestation has provided a space for me to express my full self. Wings of D’sire is the sonic bi-product of the friendship between party-enjoyers / closed-eyed dancers / Gadigal-based DJs Maria Wang @dgradeknockoff and Liam Taylor @wiiingnut. Inspired by a spectrum of frenetic, bossy and beautiful sounds, Wings of D’sire pursue the margins of dance music as they navigate us through boisterous and emotive waves of sub-bass.
