NYC's MANIK made a big splash when he appeared on the scene five years ago with releases on Culprit, Poker Flat and Ovum. Since his relocation to Los Angeles, he's managed to keep up with the game and still bring the goods via Ellen Allien's Bpitch Control. This new Ovum EP sees MANIK teaming up with local chanteuse Cari Golden(of Narcotourist who has also lent her talents to the likes of DJ T) as they serves us with "Recourse" a smooth and slinky tech house groove that's made for sexy dancefloor moments and sure make the walls sweat too. Ode to his new hometown "Los Angeles" is a bit darker funk with those emotive pads and rusty, dirty drum machine patterns. Hey everyone, here is my Acid House Hot Mix! 2017

Since 2017 is the 30th anniversary of the genre that pretty much got me into house and techno, I recorded a 3 hour all Acid House DJ Mix. I've been planning this for months, and luckily with the holidays, I had some free time to finally do it! I went through all my records, old and new, and selected roughly 40 of my favorite 303 inspired jams!!

Acid house is of course a sub-genre of house music developed around 1987 in Chicago. As most of you already know, I am a student of the game, and I absolutely love many different types of underground dance music. Everything from soulful deep house and disco all the way to proper detroit techno, but if there is one thing that always gets me, it's the Silver Box!!!

Tonight works a raw acid line for over eight minutes, balancing it with dreamy pads and clattering snare rolls. It’s a little touch of ‘88 filtered through a contemporary lens.
