MFR 012 welcomes Mancunian DJ and Producer Simmo ( @alexsimmo ) to the ever-growing Manipulated roster! Simmo's beat catalog has seen him with early releases on labels such as Luv Rhtyhm, SelectA and Subset, crafting his sound around fast-paced, upbeat minimal house. Expect dark, groove-filled basslines, snappy percussion and catchy synth lines!

Funktion: Minimal to its core, we hear synths bouncing left, right and centre, eerie pads creating tension on the build-ups, and of course some tasty, tight swingin' percussion as expected from the man himself, Simmo!

Motion: A crunchy bassline ignites a head bop in the second track of Simmo's release, with scattered stabs, delay infused build-ups and skipping pre-drop drum rudiments to really push the energy on each drop.

Rockit: Rattling stabs keep the bounce going throughout Simmo's final track of the release – accentuated with the dreamy build-up pads and trickling Matrix-Esque FX to give that digital feel. Rock This Place!

Heavy House Society drops a high end collaboration between two heavyweights, Sidney Charles and Archie Hamilton for a standout two-tracker. On the Reset EP, they both deliver a pair of refined, groove-driven cuts that showcase the depth of their shared house and minimal house sensibilities.

'Reset' is built on a tight, swinging groove that fuses chunky basslines with crisp, shuffling percussion. Subtle chord stabs and atmospheric flourishes, inject depth and tension, while the stripped framework leaves space for momentum to build. Slick and modern, it's a hypnotic rollercoaster crafted with underground dancefloors in mind.

On the flip, 'The Future Is Now' keeps things locked to the floor with a punchy low-end foundation and rolling percussion. Carefully sculpted hi-hats and subtle vocal chops add texture, while atmospheric layers push it toward a futuristic edge. Both functional and elegant, it's the kind of tool that can elevate a set whether in the warm-up hours or peak-time pressure.

Heavy House Society's label curator Sidney Charles has long stamped his authority on house music with releases on Truesoul, Hot Creations, and Saved, shaping what fans know as The Sidney Sound. Archie's productions are as diverse as they are consistent, from his trademark stripped-back dance-floor-focused workouts on his very own MicroHertz, a label that has quickly established itself as a hub for cutting-edge underground music, to prestigious labels such as Life & Death to Three Six Zero Recordings.
