Саттва (санскр. सत्त्व, sattva IAST — «чистота», «чистый»; в буквальном переводе «существование, реальность») — гуна благости, одна из трёх гун (качеств) материальной природы в философии индуизма, в частности в философии санкхьи — одной из шести ортодоксальных философских систем индуизма. Среди трёх гун — саттвы, раджаса и тамаса — саттва считается самым чистым и возвышенным качеством материальной природы. Термин также употребляется в философии буддизма.

В «Бхагавад-гите», Кришна описывает саттва-гуну как один из уровней материальной привязанности, или обусловленности:
	Саттва-гуна, будучи чище других гун, просветляет живое существо и избавляет его от всех последствий грехов. Пребывающие под влиянием этой гуны привязываются к знанию и ощущению счастья.
Согласно воздействию трёх гун материальной природы, живые существа можно подразделить на три категории: счастливых, деятельных и беспомощных. Эти три психологических состояния определяют положение обусловленного живого существа в царстве материальной природы. Саттва наделяет человека мудростью, отличающей его от тех, кто обусловлен иначе. Человек в саттва-гуне гораздо меньше подвержен материальным желаниям, и ему свойственна привязанность к материальным знаниям. Примером таких людей являются брахманы, про которых говорят, что они находятся под влиянием саттва-гуны. Говорится, что саттва-гуна, в отличие от других гун, приносит людям глубокие познания и делает их счастливыми. На уровне саттва-гуны индивид испытывает счастье по причине осознания частичной свободы от бремени кармических реакций.
Находясь в саттва-гуне, человек сознаёт своё преимущество в знании, чувствует своё превосходство над другими и этим обусловливается. Примером тому могут служить философы и учёные. Все они гордятся своими познаниями, и, поскольку большинство из них живёт в достатке, они до определённой степени испытывают материальное счастье. Это ощущение счастья в рамках обусловленной жизни привязывает их к саттва-гуне. Поэтому они очень привязываются к деятельности в саттва-гуне, и, пока эта привязанность существует, они будут вынуждены менять тела в цикле самсары, оставаясь во власти гун материальной природы. Это лишает их возможности достичь мокши. Снова и снова рождаясь учёным, философом или поэтом, такой человек обрекает себя на череду страданий, которые всегда приносят рождение и смерть. Но, под влиянием майи, он, несмотря ни на что, считает себя счастливым.

Manish Vyas, born in Gujarat, India (lives in Switzerland) and has been learning Indian music since the age of ten, he learnt Tabla with Ustad Allarakha in Mumbai, where he continued for many years, while he was in charge of the musical department at Osho Ashram in Pune, organizing and performing concerts. He is composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist (Tabla, Harmonium, Santoor, Keyboard) and teacher. Along his lifetime musical path, he has composed hundreds of songs, mainly in the devotional, folk, instrumental, meditative and Sufi genres. He has released more than 20 albums. He offers the perfect blend of Indian genuine sounds merged with a touch of fusion, which makes his music so accessible and appreciated by all type of listeners in the search of authentic Indian sounds. Manish lives currently in Switzerland where he runs a music academy in his spare time. "Important is people know what is what when it comes to sound, Indian music, mantra and Indian spirituality. I share that, what i learned from genuine sources, this is the least respect that Indian music deserves and will always deserve."
