Prolific house DJ and producer Thierry Tomas teams up with Belgian producer Pat Lezizmo for a two tracker on Steve Bug’s home for more reduced, hypnotic, and raw sounds, Sublease Music.

The Boy Who Recorded Birds is the title track for this release, and sees the pair collaborate on an amped up groover that instantly draws listeners (and dancers) in and keeps them locked throughout. A swinging, deep groove sets the tone, while the addition of various vocal snips, synth washes, and a funky bass keep the track moving and evolving throughout. A real treat from start to finish.

The Girl Who Drew Flowers maintains the funkiness, but boils things down to a more minimal state of affairs. The track leaves lots of space to get lost in, while carrying the vibe ever forward via clever drum programming and an infectious groove.

Release thirty-two on Manjumasi presents a variety of reinterpretations of last year’s vinyl release Instant Transmission, from label founder atish together with Vridian. A broad selection of remixers showcases the variety of sounds and styles that find a home in atish’s sets and in the Manjumasi label catalog. First up, Map.ache offers a groove-driven smooth and floaty remix of Touch & Go, well balanced with intricate details. Next up, Mihai Popoviciu & Markus Homm do what they do best, putting some dance floor heat on Instant Transmission with a super-sturdy bassline groove and dubby textures floating over the mix. Fast-rising Japanese producer boys be kko turns in two melodic mixes,with the Sanya Mix featuring a ripping unique synth lead, and the Yanagi Edit focusing on the deeper side of the groove and textures. iO Mulen takes things in a unique direction with a breakbeat-infused remix that mixes throwback elements with edgy modern sound design. Finally, Indian producer Kohra wraps up the package with a late night interpretation, dark and dub-infused with molten metallic textures.
