Next up from Manjumasi is a showcase of rapidly rising production talents: the Six Swords VA. Titled after the six producers involved, this is collection of finely crafted, edgy and mysterious tracks from artists all over the world.

Leading the way is Unjam Emery, a new Swiss production duo from Geneva. Their track "Sleepwalker" sets a bold tone for the release. Chugging comfortably along at 111bpm, a terrifically woozy blend of swirling synth motifs suck you in to another world. This is followed up by an encore performance from Russian producer Saultloom, whose Kowtow EP debuted on Manjumasi in May. "Canoodle" is a trippy exploration, picking up the tempo and taking us further down the rabbit-hole, once again showcasing Saultloom's ability to craft highly unique synth-driven grooves.

After that is LA-based Fernando Aragon, whose beautiful synth-laden tune "Bergah" softens the mood, with a memorable lead line which is at once uplifting and echanting, yet tinged with a beautiful melancholy. After that we feature DOTT (Dogs On The Turns), a prolific and fast-rising DJ and producer from Bangkok, Thailand. "Kobe's Lost Journey" offers a haunting loop-driven groove with a bouncing bassline and an undeniable air of mystery. Brooklyn-to-LA transplant Sam Jaspersohn continues the journey, with "Pretty Vacant" introducing a darker shade. Razor-edged synth textures and eerie bell tones weave throughout.

Finally, we round out the package with a collaboration between Pakistani producer V i v i d and Greece's Savvas. "In the Sky, to the Stars" is a gentle and dreamy lullaby, soft melodic grooves wafting through the ether.

Bondage Music continues its ‘Home (Remixes)' package this July with part three, featuring Sven Tasnadi, Pablo Bolivar, Martin Aquino and more. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album's called "Home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home." With ‘Home' gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages. Across the remix package Pablo Bolivar turns in a sun drenched acid-tinged take on ‘Sandstone', Frink strips back ‘Hypnosia' to a raw groove-led vibe and Martin Aquino dubs out ‘Sunshine' with swirling chords. Sven Tasnadi offers up a heady interpretation of ‘Music 999' to follow fuelled by stuttering vocals, stab sequences and a bumpy drum workout before Schlepp Geist & Krink's remix of ACK closes the package on a dark and brooding tip.

Karnival Dreams (Retza's Interdimensional remix)

Our first release on Motek for 2020 and it is a big one. Having delivered two huge remixes for the label, Martin Landsky is back with three track original EP ‘Attitude’ which includes Original and Acid Mix of the title track, and b-side ‘Leipzig House’.

Attitude is perfect for finding your dance floor feet. Full of classic House orchestration from the warm keys texture, the bouncy bass line and 808 style hats. The track has added mystery within its lead line which adds contrast to the mix and is finished with the spoken vocal. The Acid Mix of Attitude is darker and brings more weight, perfect for the later hour. The sharp acid lead cuts through a production still steeped in groove and syncopation. A mix to get in your own zone and get lost too.

Leipzig House as with the original of Attitude also has strong classic Deep House sounds. An evolving and warping bass line drives the track within a spacious mix allowing the syncopating groove to have maximum impact.

Remixing on this release we firstly welcome back Morninglasses who have put their magic to Attitude. Working with the core values and genre of the original, their take has a faster feel driven by 16th note hi hats and though the addition of airy and floaty pad lines. They have also applied clever use of the vocal as a textural element.
