To be honest I (Content) didnt really get why the other significants of the EA team [Deafblind] decided to send me a track from DubApe way back... I also remember not particularly getting it?  I mean i am forward thinking and all but it challenged my listening.... Roll on some 5 years of hearing the mans music and I am at a place with his sound that as soon as I hear the opening riff of a song I am in love!

This release for me centre's around Millions. A track which should of come out much sooner and we are proud to have this on the platform.  Woob is my personal favourite and then the Ramsez collab is off the chain!!!!!!!!. Not forgetting Thumpa which is not like the last one and filler.... none of the release is, ALL THRILL NO FILL!

Where 'Biren' captured the nature of Kami-O's roots, 'Veiled' captures the nature of his soul at a specific moment in time. Recorded during lockdown through a period of anxiety and isolation, the talented Glaswegian lays out ten characteristically deep meditative tracks with moments of etherealism and foreboding tension, sparked by the record's sublime opener and today's premiere, 'Silva'.

Kami-O is a Glasgow based producer & DJ who specialises in dubstep and grime. He put out his first self released project, the 'Hara EP' in 2020, which got him noticed by the renowned label FatKidOnFire, who signed him for an EP and mix later that same year.

Following this he released his debut album 'Biren' in 2021, a project dedicated to his late grandfather and inspired by his Indian heritage. It released to high acclaim, with features in Complex, TRENCH, Electronic Sound and Polymer Zine, where it achieved a 9/10 rating and the title of album of the month.

After this, he dropped a couple of vinyl exclusive, 2 track EPs with known underground labels in the scene, LDH Records and Soil & Sound, plus also recorded mixes for platforms including Rinse FM, Subtle Radio, Rinse France and SeekSickSound.

Now he's back with his 2nd album 'Veiled'. A release inspired by his struggles with his mental health and social isolation, which were only heightened during the lockdown when work on the album began. Featuring vocal collaborations from Rider Shafique, Amos and Jae Mann, this is Kami-O's most diverse and expansive release to date, spanning 10 tracks of consistently surprising, forward thinking music. 'Veiled' will be released on November 11th digitally on all platforms and on limited edition cassette through bandcamp.

Jah-Tek presents the album title track 'Veiled', a beautiful sonic exploration, diving into the depths of eastern instrumentation and harmony, accompanied by soothing low-end warmth.

Glasgow-based dubstep and grime producer/ DJ (and FKOF fam) @kami-o's had a pretty solid 18mo with material. We had our release with him, he dropped his debut self-released album (go check 'Biren' if you've not yet) and now we're back with the next long-player project.

"You’re immediately confronted with what I call a growlpad (haha). It doesn’t return as one leading the track, but for the intro it’s perfect; nicely layered and gives the build-up some nice character. The kick and the snare are really on point, pounding and punchy, fitting with the atmosphere which surrounds the track – just the way I like them. The sample is total sickness, probably one of my favourites at this moment. 

"Growls causing serious impact on the brain, nice variations on them and nice placement in the mix, I’m really impressed – listen to that subtle delay on some of them too. The low-end is seriously dangerous, just feel how low this one comes out of your sub, serious weight sounding warm yet aggressive. Drum patterns are on point, nice variations and fade in-and-out from time to time to keep things fresh. 

"What about that girl vox, again DCult’s signature element in the mix, sounding gorgeous and balancing out the evil vibe coming off this one? Madness. The break is straight, loving the resonance and the deepness of the pads involved followed by that sick sample. The second drop is sick, and kicks in a little later, which I find very original. Nice switch-ups in terms of element use as well. No more words I can add to this, this remix (and the other two tracks) = mindblowing material…"
