Alex Albrecht returns with Aurora - a pristine followup to his Blue Caves transmission via Scissor and Thread in 2018. 

The Melbourne based composer and sound designer Albrecht has leans into his predilection for woozy, affecting melodies intertwined with skittering drums and snaking grooves, and Aurora brings that to the fore with six tracks of shimmering beauty. 

Spring Orchard opens the record, effortlessly merging deeply buried keys with washes of dreamlike synths, and dubby effects. 
Wildflower Walk is a melancholic affair, underpinned with a restless groove. 
The title track Aurora treads a similar path, but with a more driving approach, while an interplay between piano, guitar, and synths drenched in reverb offer a warm, enveloping atmosphere. 


Aurora is also shared here as a remix by Roza Terenzi, who entirely reworks the track with her signature club ready grooves . 

Kennett River exhibits a kind of smudged, cinematic hip hop feel, while closing track Morning Piazza showcases Albrecht’s sense of drama and pacing, producing a sublime ending to this deeply affecting collection.

Primary Colours Music's latest two-part release, Antipodean Dubs, is a dynamic celebration of Australian dub techno talent.

Volume A kicks off with Melbourne's own Astralure, whose track "Freq" delivers an infectious groove with its robust kicks, bassline, and skillfully delayed stabs.

Following up is another Melbourne-based artist, Mike Nolan, whose "Steady" crafts a mesmerizing journey with its dub-infused, low-slung beats, dreamy pads, and sweeping textures.

The release continues with Silver Ash, a Primary Colours staple from the coast, returning with "Blackwood," a track that captivates with its evolving grooves, intricate effects, and relentless bass programming.

Closing out Volume A is Noosa Sound System, hailing from the picturesque town of Noosa, with "Ah Go Build," a true dub stomper featuring drugged-out grooves, deep drone stabs, and hypnotic vocals layered over massive drums. This release showcases the rich diversity and talent within the Australian dub techno scene.

#006 of the catalogue offers two deep journeys by label operator A:lex on the A-side:

“Soul Shower” cuts to the chase with dubby toms, shuffling hats, sharp-ass claps and an infectious warm synth progression that manifests that “body thang” referred to sample-wise. 
“Long Way to Detroit” is a groover of a MPC-styled workout that stitches together various voices that comment on the city of cities all the while shuffling hard snares around a bubbling baseline - laid-back reminiscence guaranteed.

The flip side features one hell of a funky jam entitled “Places (Live Take)” ripped straight from a modular Acid session conducted by the mysterious outfit Richmond Wagner. Sparkling hats sprinkled over relentlessly warping bleeps and a thumper of a kickdrum will make crowds go off their heads during upcoming festival season as in any place alike.
