If Tomorrow I Were Leaving for Lhasa, I Wouldn't Stay a Minute More... is the second studio album by American post-punk band Red Temple Spirits. It was released in 1989 on the Nate Starkman & Son label, a subsidiary of Fundamental.
 
Dedicated to Tibetan buddhism, the album displayed a more direct approach and a turn toward Tibet for the music's spiritual inspiration. 
 
L.A.'s Red Temple Spirits perform ritualistic, droning post-punk soundscapes augmented by tribal drumming, '60s psychedelia, and a {new age} spiritual sensibility courtesy of British emigre and frontman William Faircloth, fresh off of an EP with Ministry of Love. The band also features guitarist Dallas Taylor and bassist Dino Paredes, a former member of Perry Farrell's pre-Jane's Addiction band Psi Com.
Los Angeles based Red Temple Spirits were prophets and shamen, ritualistic healers musically exploring an entirely new world. Pulsating psychedelic sonics meet mesmerizing mysticism, comprising intense spiritual, tribal, primitive imagery. Formed in early 1987, the band has released two albums via Nate & Starkman Son Records (distributed by Fundamental) and disbanded in 1993.

These 8 tracks, as sounds experimentations, have been spontaneously recorded live, then enhanced by Tioma Tchoulanov (Nze Nze) mastering, create a navigation in some shallow waters, a Path of Paladin from the darkness to the light of brighter days. 

This comes as a tape, dubbed on recycled batches, wrapped in a very exclusive collage by Andrea Marini.

30th of April was the release party of our debut vinyl known as 'Elementa Obscura 001' for this special ocassion we invited 'Ladislav Zensor' aka 'Exhausted Modern' where he truly delivered a masterclass of heady fusion of breaks, dreamy pads, and razor-sharp polyrhythms that held the room in a hypnotic grip. With the venue packed wall to wall, it was clear this was more than just a release party.

Some of the tracks are old and deeply sentimental to me, but in today’s world and climate, it felt right to bring them back and play with them. 

The mix has its flaws, I know—but that’s exactly what I love about underground sound: the rawness, the emotion, the imperfection.

I enjoy exploring wonderfully bizarro melodies cling to crisped percussion, all shrouded in a smokey blanket of saturation. 

Haunting basslines, exotic resonance howls, sludgy synths drowning in the umbra, diabolical carnival organs, and stygian vocals.
