Although they've only been around for two years, Washington D.C. based label Better Listen Records has already made quite the splash in the underground music scene - releasing a total of 14 records from some of our favorite rising producers like Joe Corti, Sune, Ari Bald, and Ethyène. If you thought they'd be satisfied with such a prolific output, you'd be wrong my friend...very wrong. After taking a brief sabbatical last summer, the boys of BLR are coming back to us well-rested, reloaded, and ready to share new sounds from their eclectic group of talented artists.

The person leading their return happens to be Dorsi Plantar, who made his BLR debut with the springtime treasure Everlast. Being the first artist to come out with a sophomore EP on the label, the man from Copenhagen has a lot to live up to after making such a stellar impression last year. That being said, if the latest track off his upcoming EP Tack Farsan is any indication, it's clear that Mr. Plantar has no intention of disappointing.

Titled Make Sure You Mean That Shit, this original features several elements that'll make it a surefire way for DJs to get the dancefloor pumping wherever it's played. Festive adlibs? Check! Inspiring quotes? Check! Latin grooves? Check! Face-melting, disco-laden chord progressions? Check! These sorts of elements are what made us fall in love with Dorsi and his sound last year, and we're absolutely positive they'll leave those smitten who aren't already familiar.

“healing” begins to open up from the haze that “fog” leaves. The title has a lot of meaning behind this one, laced with distant vocals telling you to “let the healing into your heart”. The track encapsulates the title of the EP, an emotional shift towards happiness, peace of mind, hope, and (some) clarity. This track was written with a lot of personal hardships on CD’s mind from a recent relationship, and always pictured being entranced by it at the end of a long set in the club.

With “Caused Corruption & Spilled Blood“, the second release on Voidance Records, Chafik Chennouf & Katsunori Sawa have created a soundtrack of the tragic drama of humanity´s fatal flaws, meditating on the question whether the angels were right to fear mankind's creation of causing corruption and spilling blood according to an anecdote that all Abrahamic religions share.

The follow up „Mediate Between Them“ may not provide an answer to this question, but further elaborates on the topic. Whereas issues such as obstruction of truth for personal gains, affinity for internal destruction or longing for salvation were originally approached more internally by means of ambient or experimental electronics, the experience now emerges through the work of renowned artists Samuel Kerridge, Eomac, Nene H. and Stave using Noise, Techno and stepping Industrial as their weapons of choice.

Voidance Records is proud to present Chafik Chennouf & Katsunori Sawa´s vision once again, this time through different eyes of 4 unique artists. Not only is „Mediate Between Them“ the reverence these tracks deserve, but also demonstrates a huge step forward in the Label’s position as a striking new voice in contemporary electronic music.

The Hard Fist label notches up release number five from a fresh new family member in the form of Mr TC, with remixes from Lokier and Khidja. At the forefront of the Glaswegian music scene, Mr TC moves through genres from new wave to post punk, industrial, disco and tropical oddities. He plays mesmeric live shows with synths, drum machines and guitars. This EP— which is an allusion to the origins of trippy dance music—is his first solo effort since 2016 and takes you to the void of space, seeking freedom from moral prohibitions and standards, refuge from sexual and gender prejudice, exile from oppression, and aims to rupture aesthetic boundaries.
Then comes ‘Depth Gauge,’ which stylishly takes you from the desert into the depths of the ocean. The former Middle Eastern setting becomes an Atlantis landscape surrounded by coral reefs, seaweed plants, octopus and jellyfish, with dub drums and sustained chords all sinking you into a state of hypnosis. This is perfectly pumping club music with a menacing heart of real human emotions.

Mannequin Records is proud to announce a new press of Decadance "On And On (Fears Keep On)", one of the most iconic underground Italo-wave track ever.

Produced by Franco Rago & Gigi Farina, the masterminds behind cult italo disco projects ‘Lectric Workers, Wanexa, Expansives, Atelier Folie, Peter Richard and many more, the single was originally released in 1983 by Proto Records. 

Permeated by a dark a eerie synths, a perfectly programmed Roland TR-808 and an outstanding analog production, "On and On (Fears Keep On)" belongs to what we like to define "dark italo disco" or "italo wave". Here's there's an extra touch of cosmic / interstellar feeling, sharing the same feelings (and the same synthetic hardware) of "Spacer Woman". Not a intergalactic travel this time, but the wait for somebody to come from the sky.

The best year for Italo Disco music from a true Italo lover's standpoint is without a doubt 1983. The list is endless and really impressive. We could mention Gaznevada, N.O.I.A., Kano, Finzy Kontini, Gary Low, Gazebo, Righeira.. but let's keep the focus more in the "underground" hits:  Mr. Flagio, Charlie, Casco, B.W.H., Roberto Onofri & Dee Jay Program Band, Amin Peck, Paul Paul, Fred Ventura, International Music System, Kirlian Camera, My Mine and, to cut the long story short, Decadance.
