This version of Undular is a stereo mix from the original 8 channel one.

Vertical is a meditation on primary waveforms and the polyrhythm of harmonics in synthetic sounds, stretching the boundaries between drone, minimalism and techno. Barbieri's minimalist focus arises from the exploration of the stratigraphic potential of voltage-controlled sequencers, in terms of polyrhythm and polyphony. Employing synthesis, psychoacoustics and repetition as key concepts, the italian composer stylizes the dancing of wave cycles in severe geometries of time and space.
All the tracks were played, recorded and produced in Stockholm, at EMS (Electroacoustic Music Studios) and KMH (Royal University of Music) in Summer 2013.

The talented Alhek brings us an EP, constructed of 3 tracks, and as he likes to call it himself, "the antidote to a day's pain". For that moment, for the climax of the night; for the people that don't ask anything else other than to live; To live a true trip riding on the boundaries of insanity of their own consciousness. 

Alhek gives us two very distinct tracks that are guaranteed to inspire and intrigue not only the underground techno scene but in general the whole electronica domain. The first track "Numbing" contruscts an atmosphere of uncertainty if not almost fear. It's like gambling sanity at the edge of cliff. Bewildering modulating pads bring a sense of urgency as the wailing synth gives an unremitting feeling of insecurity. Just the name of the second track, "Inertia", pretty much describes the essence of this composition. A superb & somnolent driving techno track that is almost sedative in its nature. This time we have the skilful and dexterous Ness remixing "Inertia". Taking an already compelling composition he adds a new dimension making the remix deep and hypnotic yet very intriguing and energetic. 

When you listen to this EP your heart pulsates to the groove, your blood boils for the rhythm and your soul lingers from one side of the room to the other. It almost reminds us of a film or a video set in the 90's where a human being, without the use of drugs, succeeded in penetrating the depths of their own intimacy.

Sean Pierce debuts on Mannequin Records with an intense dark / techno modular synth 6 tracks EP.

Currently operating out of Portland, Oregon, Sean is one half of ASSS, who put out two acclaimed singles on Mannequin Records parent label Haunted Air Records.

One of the most fascinating elements of Sean's artistic principle is his absolute lack of propriety over his artistic work, which is a beautiful and radical approach. He encourages people to check out his set-up at shows to see what he's concocted. A performance is enjoyable in part because he's able to share information, for he believes a collective pool of idea sharing and advancements into how people think and what they're doing is "really important for the creative community.

Sean is interested in the rearranging of elements within a performance: taking sounds that he or someone else has made and sending them through his particular process. Specific categorization is not applicable to his sound projects, but he says there is something industrial about it, a metallic quality that is, of late, satisfying. The most appropriate articulation of his music might be: the percussive use of synthesizers.

Mannequin Records is elated to present a selection of the killer “Zombi Holocaust” soundtrack by Nico Fidenco, remixed by Mannequin Records boss Alessandro Adriani on the B side.

‘Zombi Holocaust‘ movie is another slice of Italian zombie craziness for the late 70’s/early 1980s. The film, released in 1979, was directed by Marino Girolami, and starred Italian zombie favorite Ian McCulloch. 

In contrast to the sleazy and gory action on the screen, the soundtrack of the maestro Nico Fidenco is a thing of beauty and great depth, with captivating musicianship on display. The soundtrack is a rich blend of electronic/synthesizer tracks, experimental electronics, soaring acoustic and orchestral numbers with tinges of Spaghetti Western soundtracks, frenetic drumming coupled with woodwind instruments, and chants and manipulated wordless vocals. This eclectic blend is skillfully woven together to create a soundtrack that is unique, richly textured, and one that can stand side by side with the best works of other great Italian soundtrack composers.

The selection of the tracks was following a particular path, where dark synthesizers, drones and slow burning electronic beats have a voice in. Alessandro Adriani used to play often tracks out of the soundtrack in his dj sets, as it manages to sound totally modern, so it was totally natural for him to rework “The Magic Is In Progress”, now transformed in a whole B-side 10 minutes dancefloor acid/ebm ride. TIP!
