Un chevalier noir @yasssa aka Le Chocolat Noir, aka Fiume this time under the NoirNoirNoir alias with some mighty electronic flair. 

Producer, vocalist and DJ from Sisak [HRV] whose broad work released on labels such New York based  @l-i-e-s and @kraftjerkz, @helena-hauff `s  @returntodisorder, Madrid based @frigio-records, Germans @shelostkontrolrecords and Gooiland Elektro, Bunker, @charloisrotterdam from the NL region. Besides collaboration with @zarkoff on @fffc (Florence Foster Fan Club) project, he`s ½ of the Black Dot duo with @allegedwitches landing releases on @italo_moderni and @murder_tbs.

His vision of clubbing was formed in the Zagreb underground parties already in the early 90s. In the music scene since the beginning of the millenium, both as DJ and music producer. As a part of Zagrebs bRave collective he's leaving his mark in the local clubbing scene. Anything wave, EBM, rarities and obscurities, he's got his name on it.

https://soundcloud.com/patriciakaas: It's quite a while since I've recorded a mix reflecting a dancefloor. So this one is definitely a special one. It captures my diverse taste for intellectual and tense electronic music. Filled with old gems as well as recently released psychotic tracks, the mix delivers a melomaniac rollercoaster. Take a dizzy sip!

The music of the Lithuanian producer Gediminas Jakubka, who turns into Patricia on stage, balances between borders. Patricia Kokett blends rave with mysticism, futuristic industrial with shamanic noise, and various reworked voices with hypnotic output. With his 2020 debut album ‘Bizarr’ (12” vinyl) on Dutch Knekelhuis imprint, Patricia Kokett quickly proved his knack for creating transcendental, immersive sonic experiences. 

Following up with touring around Europe’s clubs, the covid period was an existential stop and a deep moment of reflection. In addition to this, Patricia Kokett has finished the third EP entitled ‘Psykhe’, which was released on the ‘Isla to Isla’ label on 12” vinyl in 2023. Psykhe continues to explore his distinct sound, but taking it in a new direction: a step away from the euphoric new age dance floor and into a significantly murkier, more precarious territory.

Explaining his music as ‘trippy techno,’ Patricia Kokett enhances this epithet in highly emotional and wild live sets. The forthcoming live gigs will consist of new music from the upcoming record, filled with the trippy ethos of electronica. DJ sets always contain adventurous and challenging sounds, which lead listeners to uncharted territories.

Gediminas Jakubka also works as a cinema composer and has a couple of movies which has to be noted. ‘Animus Animalis’ by Aiste Zegulyte, released in 2019, and ‘Toxic’ by Saule Bliuvait,e released in 2024. The latter OST was released on a vinyl record and is being qualified as the second full-length album by Gediminas Jakubka/Patricia Kokett.

One of the holy grail of the minimal synth and one of the most obscure musical projects ever produced in Italy is finally reissued on Mannequin Records.

Originally released in 1981 by Broadbean Records, a sub-label of LM Records, Flo & Andrew only release ‘Take Suicide’ was home-recorded and home-mixed by the duo in Bologna, using early drum machines like the Boss Dr-55 and the Korg Kr-55, analog synthesizers, guitar, saxophone, tape loops. Flo & Andrew music is truly unique and exemplifies the fact that limitation can be the perfect source for creativity. The title-track and ’To Committ Suicide’ travel through contort and nervous synth sounds and loops, taking somehow inspiration from the No Wave heroes, while ‘Japanese Girls’ is nothing less than a beautiful minimal electronics track in the mythology of the futuristic rise of Japanese country.

Recently (re)discovered, ‘Take Suicide’ is a milestone of the European minimal synth singles and is not really a coincidence that a young generations of producers take it as inspiration (you can see ‘Take Suicide’ floating in the tracklist of artists as Helena Hauff and NGLY). Another must have in your collection / record bag!
