La North East Ska*Jazz Orchestra nasce dall’ammirazione e dalla passione per la musica ska-jazz di tre giovani musicisti: Roberto Amadeo, Max Ravanello e Stefano Salmaso. 
Tutti provenienti da varie esperienze nell’ambito della musica caraibica (ska-rocksteady-reggae), e consapevoli del crescente interesse delle nuove generazioni nei confronti della musica in levare, tentano di unire le molte piccole realtà del Friuli Venezia Giulia in un solo e unico energico gruppo! Nasce così, nell’autunno del 2011, un’esplosiva big band che propone i più affascinanti standard jazz con le calde ed incisive sonorità tipiche della musica jamaicana, sullo stile di storici gruppi come Skatalities e Jazz Jamaica All Stars.
L’ensemble comprende persone provenienti da ogni parte della regione, da Pordenone a Trieste, e proprio per questo, oltre che essere un’”orchestra dal suono esclusivo”, rappresenta un importante punto di incontro tra musicisti esordienti e più navigati, in cui ognuno può dare voce alle proprie idee, esprimersi in piena libertà e mettersi in contatto con persone altrimenti molto distanti…tutti fattori determinanti per creare un unico grande contesto musicale in grado di spaziare dallo ska al reggae, generi in grande fermento, sino alle più ricercate sonorità del jazz. 

Grazie al video "Take Five", un'arrangiamento del famoso brano di P. Desmond, è nato il "featuring" con il trombonista di fama internazionale Mr. T-Bone;

---> Dopo una serie di live, ciò si concretizza nel primo lavoro discografico per la big band friulana: 
I primi di Maggio vengono pubblicati un E.P. realizzato in collaborazione con l'associazione Time For Africa, un video di un singolo tratto dal suddetto cd e un vinile dedicato al progetto "Mr. T-Bone meets North East Ska*Jazz Orchestra.
