No matter where I am when I play tracks with sounds from this continent people really start to dance. There seems to be something about the music from this part of the world that connects deep within us.

This set is an homage to Africa. Not all of the songs are made there, but they seem to speak the language of this region. There are also samples taken from a trip Dean took recently to Kenya that are woven into the set. I hope this hour set takes you on your perfect journey.

It's 5 am, and Kater legend, Lotti (The Sorry Entertainer) is being applauded as he finishes an incredibly powerful set. I stare apprehensively at the Rane rotary mixer that I have never played on before, and it looks smugly back at me almost as if its dials taunt my shaking hands.

The dance floor is packed at Beate Uwe, and the crowd is energized. I had planned a set intro, but now it seems all wrong, "What do YOU want to hear right now?" I ask myself...

I can't tell you how special it was to play back in Berlin to an incredible crowd after five years of having left. This set was sculpted by the people in the room, and I'm grateful for every smile and whistle on the dance floor. The energy of you all pushed the set until 8 am and left me so happy and fulfilled. Berlin is a city like no other, and I'll never forget this set. A huge thank you to Philipp Vogt, @hinrichwittern, and @witness-this for the invitation and all of my old and new friends for being a part of this magical morning.

His latest film, Just Like Water, has won 150+ first-place awards for Best Director, Best Producer, Best Writer, Best Cinematographer and all categories in international and domestic film festivals to date 🏆
