A few words from the artist:
1/ How would you describe your personal connection to music and how it influences your creative process?
My personal connection to music is constantly evolving and occasionally complicated. At times I'll feel so tired by it and at other times I'm addicted to it. My creative process requires me to have some time-off from music. Mainly time off from DJing, actually. When I'm surrounded by lots of functional music designed for night clubs, it's hard for me to truly feel creative and have the energy to make new music. 

2/ As an artist, how do you see the intersection between fashion and music? 
I'd like to be more involved with the intersection of fashion and music! It feels like it would be an exciting estuary. 

3/ What particularly interested you in collaborating with Études to make this mix?
I like Études! I've been a fan since before I was releasing music. I was interested in a particular artist called Colin Snapp and bought his book that Études had published. The Études tumblr was also a very frequent source of inspiration for me. It feels weird and exciting to do something for a brand I've been following for a long time. 

4/ How did you curate this musical sequence/audio journey?
I tried to think about it being autumn going into winter over in europe and chose a few tracks that felt a bit like they were slowing down. I'm currently back in Australia so the opposite seasonal change is occurring, so I still have some slightly more spring-oriented tracks in there. 

5/ Three words to define your mix for Études?

While this mix features my classic deranged three minute blends, they’re contrasted by complex syncopation and seismic switch-ups that more accurately create a container for the unknowns of the new year. Within this mystery, there’s a hyperactive optimism, reflected by the dark but celebratory second half of the mix. Expect acid, dabke, breaks, and the usual genre-busting rumblings."
