Ein Gedankenblitz lässt ihn erwachen. Die Orientierung fällt noch schwer. Münder bewegen sich, jedoch können seine Ohren keinen Ton vernehmen. Alles wirkt irgendwie verschwommen. Das Bier in der Hand ist schon warm. Die ersten Puzzleteile der Umgebung ergeben langsam einen Sinn. Die Sonne scheint und laute Musik verhindert das Vordringen von Wörtern bis in seinen Verstand. Er schaut sich um und sieht viele glückliche Gesichter, die sich rhythmisch auf und ab bewegen. Ein buntes Treiben aus prachtvoll verzierten Individuen, die auf magische Weise durch ein unsichtbares Band miteinander verbunden sind und so ein verspieltes Kollektiv bilden. Plötzlich fehlt etwas. Die Musik ist noch da,  aber sie hat spürbar an Energie verloren. Es gibt keinen erkennbaren Grund dafür und die Menschen sind auch nicht wirklich beunruhigt, eher leicht erregt. Genauso unvermittelt wie die Energie verschwunden war, tritt sie wieder auf und Ekstase beherrscht die Gefühlswelt.
Ein seltsames Ritual , doch er spürt wie er ein Teil davon werden möchte. Langsam aber stetig setzen sich seine Gliedmaßen in Bewegung. Er fühlt wie sich seine Gesichtszüge verändern und taucht ein in eine Welt ohne Zeit und Raum. Er lässt sich treiben und schwebt durch die Massen. Nach nur wenigen Augenblicken wird er ein Teil des Ganzen. Er geht ganz im Kollektiv auf. Sein Geist scheint sich mit den der Anderen auf einer metaphysischen Ebene zu vereinen. Da erkennt er den heimlichen Taktgeber und Spielleiter. Diese Person klaut der verbindenden Kraft die Energie, die Tiefe. Aber nur um sie wenig später kraftvoller wieder zurückzubringen. Der Mann hinter den Instrumenten scheint der Bewahrer dieser mysteriösen Form von Kraftstoff zu sein. Er lässt sich fallen und sein Verstand macht wieder dem Unterbewusstsein platz. Die Sonne geht unter und er tanzt immer noch.
Erst viel später erfährt er, dass ein gewisser Samer Soltan ihm dieses Erlebnis verschafft und über die Tänzer und ihre Dynamik gewacht hat. Ein Meister der Musik und Geschichten.

Unendliches Blau, immer nur unendliches Blau, oben und unten unendliches Blau… kein Wind im Segel seit einer Woche und die Mannschaft wird langsam mürrisch. Seit 4 Wochen kein Land mehr in Sicht und die Karte hat schon längst ihren Dienst quittiert. Jenseits dieses Breitengrades hat noch nie ein Schiff gekreuzt und jede Untiefe setzt neue Pinselstriche die später sehr wertvoll seien könnten. Unser Abenteuer auf der Südsee schien zum Scheitern verdammt als sich plötzlich der Wind aufmachte. Der Ozean zeigte sein anderes Gesicht und auch an Deck wurde es unvermittelt unruhig. Über uns brach die Welt zusammen und der Himmel fiel uns auf den Kopf. Wütend schmetterte uns Poseidon sein Element entgegen. Wir wehrten uns nach Leibeskräften, doch das schlechte Essen hatte davon nicht mehr viel übriggelassen.

Orientierungslos erwachten wir und fanden uns mitten im Himmel wieder. Die Schönheit dieses Ortes betäubte unsere Sinne. Wir lebten ohne wirkliche Regeln ein einfaches Leben. Dennoch waren wir so glücklich wie noch nie. Ohne den bösen Zeiger im Nacken kehrte die Gemütlichkeit in unsere Herzen ein. Man schlief, wenn man müde war und aß, wenn man Hunger hatte. Gemeinschaft war das höchste Gut und wurde ausgiebig gepflegt. Mahlzeiten wurden nur in der Gegenwart von andere eingenommen und die Feste wurden ausschweifend gefeiert. Hier in der Südsee haben wir unser Glück gefunden!

"I was the first set of the day at one of my favorite places in the world, Pink Mammoth on a Saturday in Black Rock City.

Throughout the week I had found myself searching for ways to top past years which left me chasing expectations and this set seemed to be another illustration of this idea. Previous years my friend Kenny and I had played Pink Mammoth to a packed dance floor as https://soundcloud.com/peaceinnoise, but this year he wasn't there, and neither was a big crowd. At first, I was disappointed, craving that energy, but as I closed my eyes and focused on the music, I felt a smile form on my face. It didn't matter how many people were with me on this morning, and even if there was one person in their tent grooving as they woke, that wasn't any less important.  

Thank you #burningman for not giving me what I asked for and instead what I needed. Than you Zach, Tim Green and the Pink Mammoth sound guy for your warm greeting and giving me the opportunity to be a be a small part of your camp this year.

Thank you also to anyone who rode by smiling and grooving on your bike, and the group of new friends who ended up joining me on the dance floor."

I think that the mixes must carry more feeling and that not everything is so mechanical, the mixes must have life and feeling always for me, can be melancholic and even if they are a bit dark, but never too much 🎇
