Franco Camiolo is the latest talent to emerge from the rich Argentinian progressive house scene. Dropping his first ever release on Manual Music's long running MNL imprint, he instantly enters the scene with a bang, dropping two high quality progressive house groovers with 'Speculating As Unknown' and 'Dreams'.

Spicing up his debut even more you'll find Echo Daft and Yonsh on remix duties. These guys show why they are on the radar of many DJ's at the moment, as they keep on blasting out one quality production after another, and these remixes are no exception!

An artist with a steadily evolving body of work and ever-growing fanbase, Sebastian Sellarescontinues to chart a path to the upper echelons of the underground dance scene. Now making his Proportion debut, he delivers the twin-track "Renaissance" EP.
From his home in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas, Sebastian Sellares has witnessed an unstoppable rise to prominence. An accomplished guitarist from an early age with a particular focus on rock and metal, Sebastian was ultimately drawn to electronic music with a penchant forluscious melodies and deep rhythmic grooves. A regular across the clubs of his Córdoba home, a production career in tandem quickly shone a light on a complementary set of skills.
A plethora of high-class releases quickly followed with a century of tracks finding their way onto such esteemed imprints as Anjunadeep, Proton Music, GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile and Cid Inc.'s Replug, the latter in collaboration with fellow countryman, Ezequiel Arias. Thus, through a growing portfolio of original and remix production work, Sebastian has become a sought after and in-demand artist.
Now making a first appearance on Proportion, Sebastian Sellares delivers a twin-track EP of the highest calibre. Redolent in rich melodic tapestry and dynamic rhythms that have become a staple of his work, "Renaissance" is a glorious offering that lilts effortlessly via rolling groove and ticking hi-hats. A rumbling bassline sequence creates syncopated synergy as expertly placed and stereo-panned effects add to the dense atmosphere. Elegant melodies emerge into the second movement and breakdown as they tumble and cascade over each other in beautiful aural patterns. Hitting its stride once more in the second half, emotive string phrases and delicately pulsating synths add even greater depth in a track that finds the Argentinean at the height of his production powers.
Partner track, "The Blitz" immediately excites with its subtle bouncing bassline energy and ticking percussive groove. Immaculately placed synth phrasing provides dancefloor dynamism as a sweeping analogue synth line imprints itself on the listener's consciousness. Rising and falling with club-friendly ease, a cadenced synth line builds in energy, mirroring the bassline beneath before twinkling keys provide a moment of exquisite beauty. As the track drops back into its stride once more in the latter stages, bass prowess and melodic majesty combine in mesmerising fashion.
Taking the rebirth of modern progressive house to new heights, Sebastian Sellares is a true "Renaissance" artist.

Comet Records opens the month of September with a new EP from two of the label's founders in Auseeb & Rabiee Ahmad. Pakistani artist Auseeb returns following his collaboration with Gorkiz 'Macroscopic Ego'; the label's well received inaugural offering from May of this year. This auspicious debut has spearheaded what has been a memorable start for the label. Now four releases in and Comet Records has already established itself as one of 2023's best new labels, making it a potential landing spot for many artists moving forward. Continuing on this upwards trajectory, Auseeb and Rabiee Ahmad combine their extensive forces for the label's fifth offering 'Progpoganda', alongside a remix from Mindlancholic. 

Title track 'Progpoganda' lands with a resounding thump and shows just how thematic progressive music can be. With a strong exotic narrative, Auseeb & Rabiee take strong drum arrangements and mystical vocal pads through a fist act that is equal parts spiritual and groovy. The track's strong sense of cruising carries nicely into the break where tension and atmosphere rise accordingly, onwards to a percussive fuelled finale. The companion piece 'Prodigy' follows and only builds on the duo's strong creative synergy. A touch more hypnotic than its predecessor, but with an equally impressive array of drum and textural elements, this is not only a great complementary track but one that could fare well in a variety of longer sets, particularly in the morning hours. 

The release concludes with Mindlancholic making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'Progpoganda'. Although just a year into his production career, Peruvian born, Spain based artist Mindlancholic has already racked up an impressive resume with projects for Droid9, For Senses, Massive Harmony Records, Univack and more. Now embarking on his first project for Comet, the Barcelona resident takes 'Progpoganda' into melodic territory. The vibe and cadence from the original is well maintained here with similarly strong drum arrangements, along with an evolving atmospheric presence, but it's the addition of a strong melodic lead which makes this ideal for peak hour play and ultimately closes the release out on an epic note. Comet Records has found its footing quickly and with a release like this we see just how strong the Pakistani progressive scene can be. Highly recommended.
