Siegfried Jünger – The Hole You Left | Ambient Electronic Drone

With Izzy Ment plus Albertine Sarges & Sebastian Eppner (of Ostia) three multi-faceted multi-instrumentalists used their Shutters Studio Residency to deep dive into spacious, airy ambient sounds, working in one of Germany’s biggest synthesizer collections, located in Hamburg’s old WW2 bunker. Usually based in Berlin's DIY lofi indie scene as singers, songwriters and producers, the trio kept it instrumental this time. A 9-minute-ride played on analog synths, reminiscent of greats like Aphex Twin, Laurie Anderson and Oneohtrix Point Never.

'Operating out of the global fashion capital, Davide Ferrario is a stylish new name within the world of underground dance music. With releases on Manjumasi, My Other Side of the Moon and Kitchen Recordings, the Milan based artist returns to Particles after remixing Rudy in February 2020. Now debuting with his twin-track "End of an Era" EP, the title track is an organic house gem that bristles with vibrant, low-slung groove and gently panned arpeggio backdrop. Before long, a beautiful and emotive piano section enters the fray, juxtaposed against heavy metronomic beat. Counterpoint melodies entwine effortlessly adding to the emotion and aural texture in an impressive opening. "Tempo" provides a slightly more powerful melodic techno vibe as driving beat and gated chords sit against each other in perfect unison. A shimmering arpeggio and glass lead motif add further intrigue as a free-flowing phrase swims from left to right with ease. The result is a track that showcases Ferrario's skill as a composer, producer and musician.

Estonian artist, Oleg Ivanov, "has an ear for the cinematic" through his about : river pseudonym. Concentrating on building a narrative through his music with stratified layers of sound and a wide and varied sonic palette, his music for Easy Summer, Astrolabe Recordings and Nie Wieder Schlafen has been a powerful indicator of his talent, not least through his six-track EP for the latter in June 2020. Making his Particles debut, the about : river remix of "End of an Era" revels in reversed playback of the original's powerful melodic sequences, while adding a sumptuous array of further production material. A new motif pierces its way through the mid-upper frequency range, complemented by an organic rhythmic framework that rattles along in stereo-panned groove and subtle ambient effects. The resulting reworking of Davide Ferrario is an impressive debut.

Hitting the Proton Music release schedule in mid-2020, Juan Deminicis and his twin-track "Synchronicity" was an instant classic. With a pair of remixes from Alex O'Rion and Subandrio forthcoming on the flagship imprint, a 'Particles Edition' sees remixes from Colombian and UAE artists.

From the northern Caribbean coast city of Cartagena, Gux Jimenez has been a mainstay of the Colombian dance music scene for over 15 years. Nominated for the Latin American Electronic Music and Vicious Music Awards in 2018, Jimenez has an enviable triple century of production credits to his name for such esteemed imprints as Round Triangle, Balkan Connection and fellow countryman, Juan Pablo Torrez's Clubsonica Records.

Making his Particles debut, the Gux Jimenez remix of "Synchronicity" is a multi-layered offering that bears all the melodic hallmarks of Juan Deminicis' original offering. Adding a driving beat and 16th-note rolling bassline, familiar refrains ripple across the mid-range while white-noise washes and dancefloor character create a dynamic new sound that reaches its zenith via a filtered and fizzing rendition of the stepped arpeggio so central to the original. The result is a rich and impressive Particles debut.

A regular across the clubs of the Middle East and a Pacha Ibiza Dubai residency to his name, Ejaz Ahamed is as comfortable behind the decks as he is producing the club gems that fill his unique DJ sets. With performances alongside a host of notable names that include John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and James Zabiela, Ahamed's production credentials are no less impressive in a career that began in early 2017 with remixes for PHW Elements and Yin and Yang. Additional work for OLD SQL, Stellar Fountain and BC2 in 2019 has also seen Ahamed's stock rise. A

trio of remixes for Particles that have seen reworkings of Jero Nougues and Sam Heyman in July 2018 and June 2019, were followed by a remix of Julian Nates' "Renaissance" in April 2020. Now adding a fourth remix to his Particles portfolio, the Ejaz Ahamed remix of "Synchronicity" flows effortlessly via a dynamic rolling percussive groove and heavy beat. A cadenced bassline adds to the dancefloor character as elements from Juan Deminicis' original seep into the eight-minute piece. Simultaneously, a raft of additional production material weaves its way in and out of proceedings. The stepped arpeggio so central to the original makes its presence felt in the second half as textured pads add further to a hypnotic and well-crafted remix.

Italian dance music producers Leonardo Marchetti & Modal join their forces to shape a three tracks EP inspired by the different states of soul and body, evoked by an upcoming rainfall.
The solid background of drums and percussive elements are supported by soft pads and effects, choirs and rough lead synths, defining a sonic landscape well related to the melodic techno genre.
This Ep has already received support from Tale of Us during several events in the past year, amongst other the Amsterdam Diynamic Festival 2019.

There were several pianos and I played a lot during this time and ordered a recording device. So "Autumn Fireflies" contains original piano tracks. I finished this piece during the autumn 2020 at home.

Its debut release comes from a similarly budding artist. Based in Copenhagen, GÆO is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Their first original production, “Touch, Grip, Release,” aptly samples a string quartet. Stoked by deep atmos and 4x4 beats, “Release” ends things on a somber note.

Vauban grew up in France in a family of classical musicians. He spent most of his summers on a French remote island built by the famous architect Vauban. That’s where his interest for organic music and architecture came together. He started as a DJ when he was 15 and his style evolved immensely when he started traveling the world in his 20s
He know follows the sun and lives as a nomad between Tulum, Ibiza, Berlin and Paris.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
