Parallelle join forces with Nicolas Masseyeff once again for ‘Renegade’ on Crosstown Rebels, featuring a  remix from Adam Ten & Mita Gami.  

Collaborating previously on DGTL, having known each other for years, Dutch brother duo Parallelle and France’s Nicolas  Masseyeff have created a partnership within the studio that clicks. Parallelle are multi-instrumentalists, composers, producers  and Klassified Records owners with a hybrid sound that mixes up electronica, electro-jazz and underground house, while  Masseyeff is equally accomplished and draws on minimalism, jazz, new wave, Detroit and Chicago when crafting his signature  sound on the likes of Systematic Recordings and Diversions Music. Linking up again, the three talents combine for a first  outing on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Renegade’. 

Thomas of Parallelle says, “We have created a very complementary, fun and fluid creative flow when together in the studio. We  like to keep a renegade mindset and always look for a dirty groove.” And that shows across these latest creations.  

Up first is title track ‘Renegade’, a deep mid-tempo house shuffler. The drums are elegant and airy, with bright chords and a  rasping baseline. It’s a real mood builder with dramatic synth sweeps that brings a sense of class to the dance floor.  

Israeli artists Adam Ten & Mita Gami have been a creative force for the last couple of years, and their ‘High On’ EP on  Crosstown Rebels last year gained huge success, defining a new movement of psychedelic house sounds. Their remix of  ‘Renegade’ offers a slowly unfolding masterclass with moving melodies and modulated synths casting a captivating spell. 

Last of all is ‘Bandidos’, another deep and subtle track infused with rich synth work. The bright lines and deft pads are lithe  and loose over the underlapping drums, encouraging you to gaze in awe as you get lost in the mellifluous groove.

I'm very excited to share this (Unofficial) Bootleg Edit of Nandu, Tripolism & Radeckt - Dope Dance.

If you haven't given the original track a spin yet, you're missing out on a sarcastic masterpiece that throws some shade at the electronic music scene.

When I first heard this track, I fell in love with the humor and the underlying message, hitting close to home with the current state of our scene. The lyrics, delivered by a soulful choir with a playful tone, cleverly poke fun at the prevailing mindset: “We didn't come here to dance; we only came for the dope.”

I've been on a quest for a dance floor where the connection with the music is tangible. Unfortunately, it feels like most gatherings are filled with folks soaring on another plane, high off their minds, detached.

It's disheartening to witness a scene where people seem more interested in being high than connecting with the music. Parties have become more about escapism than the artistry of a musical experience. Don't get me wrong; there's nothing inherently wrong with drugs. In fact, they can enhance our connection with music. But the sad truth is that the dance floors I find myself on are often missing the essence of being there for the music.

I've been in it for the music since day one. While I have nothing against the party favors, in fact, they might deepen the musical experience. it makes me sad that the core reason we hit the dance floor seems to be getting lost. That connection, that dance, that spiritual experience, that's what I signed up for.

I believe in the power of the dance floor as a safe space to allow yourself to be, to feel, and to express. I've healed my soul in dance floors, I've found meaning.

So, to sprinkle some good vibes into the scene, I decided to edit "Dope Dance" as a reminder to keep our values in focus and return to the core reasons we attend these parties. It's a call to awareness, a call to dance, to connect, to celebrate, and to reconnect with the true essence of electronic music.

I'm genuinely thrilled about how it turned out. I threw in my groove, my psychedelic twists, fresh vibes, organic textures, and a dash of ethnic influences. I can't wait for you all to vibe with it.

Here's to keeping our values intact, remembering why we fell in love with this scene, and, most importantly, to dancing our hearts out.

Manuel Costela is a Spanish producer from Madrid.
His music is mostly Deep house with touches of  Funk & Grooves.
At a very young age, he started the Bucketround label. 
Which currently goes by the tenth reference and only produces Vinyl format. 

Bucketround was born from the initial idea of merging funk with Deep house music, publishing works of artists who are able to risk a bit in music production and to create a community of famous artists, collaborating with producers that are emerging right now. 
He started his electronic music carrier using an alias:
Oval Future Face (O.F.F) which focused on exploring darker sounds.
His last project is a new digital label, called 2phonic Recordings, this is created to discover new talented artists, based on electronic music, experimenting with different pre-defined styles. 

He has worked and is working in countless labels of international prestige some of them are: TH Pressing (Japan), Sub_Urban, Trax Records, Deep Explorer Music, Mate Recordings, Nang Records, Deepart Sounds, Black Jack Records, Klassik (Chicago), Moatun7, Rare Wiri, B2 Recordings, Delve Deeper, MoodyHouse,  Spa In Disco, Closer To Truth, Real Balearic, Black Riot, Moulton Music (San Francisco) and more.

Actually Manuel presents a weekly program broadcast on Balearica Music Radio from Ibiza with his friend Rafa Santos.
For 2023/2024 he is working on new special collaborations with Robert Owens (Musical Directions), K Alexi, Jamie Anderson, Dj Rocca, Tominori Hosoya, Bjak and future projects on Deeper Shades Recordings, Moulton (San Francisco)  and Only Good Vibes/Vibe Collide Records.
