"Shadows" est une chanson puissante qui explore les thèmes de la persécution, de l'intimidation et de la résilience. Les paroles de la chanson décrivent la réalité d'une personne qui est constamment surveillée et critiquée par d'autres.

Le couplet initial met en lumière le regard accusateur des autres et les paroles cruelles qui blessent la protagoniste. 

Le pont (bridge) exprime le sentiment de frustration et de colère face à la persécution constante. Parfois, il semble que les personnes mal intentionnées aient le dessus.

Le refrain renforce le message de résilience en encourageant la protagoniste à ne pas croire les mensonges et à se rappeler de qui elle est vraiment. Les ombres (les persécuteurs) cherchent à effacer son identité, mais elle refuse de se laisser faire.

La musique qui accompagne ces paroles en créée une atmosphère émotionnelle intense. Les instruments et la mélodie contribuent à renforcer le message de la chanson, créant une expérience musicale qui reflète la lutte contre l'intimidation et la recherche de la véritable identité malgré les difficultés.
