Don't You Dare To Call Me In The Morning

This is a really personal one. It was written during a very stressful period in 2021. I came home, had a little too much whisky, wrote the lyrics and then wrote and recorded the backing in one night. I then forgot all about it!!I found the file the other morning and decided to finish the melody and record the vocals. It’s not easy listening but I wanted to express how I felt at that time. Some of my songs on here are personal and some are stories etc. I wanted to show one with real, pure emotion. As ever, best with headphones. There is a longish instrumental intro and then the vocals. It’s about the life spark being smothered by stress. 
Life is better now!

Unfocused and Gone

I know it’s missing
it feels hollow and spare
It was alive once, eager to act
Urgent and hungry, for attention and contact 
There was surging desire and constant demand
Oh I miss what I was, and what I am I can’t stand!

I’ve no joy in films and tv, all dead to me
Work doubt my skills, love holds no thrills
It’s just complaints and jibes, angry and snide

7. The Law and Nothing More

The third section of “Tome of Stars“ is “Sporogenesis”, a haphazard chronicle of the years 2011–2020. It marks a shift from the cataclysm of “Senescence" into a period of withdrawal and emotional hibernation, its eleven sonnets seeking to reflect the padam of the collection’s bharatanatyam-inspired structure.

This sonnet marks a profound moment of vulnerability and trauma. Written after the poet’s introspection during the pandemic lockdown, it captures his attempt to explain his past failings in love in the context of deep psychological damage from childhood trauma. The speaker opens himself through a written letter, earnestly believing this revelation may bring his beloved to appreciate fully his love for her. The poem narrates not only the introspective awakening but also the subsequent pain of receiving no reply. In that silence, the beloved’s absence becomes newly devastating, not only as loss of presence, but as an indifference to the poet’s most sacred truth and profound trauma. The final couplet brings this pain into a physical metaphor, ending with the speaker’s torment persisting in the face of emotional annihilation.

In quarantine’s long shadow, time transformed.
My mind embarked on quests through sleepless nights,
Exploring past mistakes, ardor deformed,
Unearthing reasons for our stillborn light.

In dream-wrought worlds, some truths I’d come to find;
I loved you worthy of a mythic tale,
But could not shatter shackles on my mind,
Nor unmake fiend’s corruptions and prevail.

My thirteen pages bled from mangled heart,
Confessed in raw vulnerability;
No lack of love had ripped our worlds apart,
But shadows cast by past monstrosity.  

Long years this open wound, where’s your reply?
Starved vultures rend my flesh. Yet I don’t die!

What I Need Is Somebody, Together, Forever & Ever

In more and less distant pasts, I played in several hard-rock bands as a rhythm guitarist. 
I really enjoyed it. 
Currently, I have to admit that my motivation for this activity has disappeared. I have much more fun composing and recording in my little home studio.
I’m also keen to collaborate with other artists, people who want to offer their services, or people who would like to benefit from my skills.  
Do not hesitate to get in touch.  
Some examples of my musical aesthetics: Accept, Black Swan, Scorpions, Shakra, Saxon, Bloodbound, Dokken, Battle Beast, Y&T...
