A speculative electroacoustic composition of the soundscape of tomorrow. Composed for an 8.1 audio installation.

What does our future sound like? The changes in our environment are affecting the habitat of all species. Some factors of this change include climate change, population growth, and technological developments. It is becoming more and more apparent that all living things on earth are interdependent and interact with the changing conditions. The effects are visible, perceptible, as well as audible on several levels. 
In this work, the sound sources that are most evolving or will be acoustically prominent in the future are used as source material. The rapidly transforming states of our environment are artistically represented through synthetic sound processing. 
Together with unprocessed field recordings, the edited sounds are composed into a multi-channel composition in an abstract narrative. Through the specific movements from sound in space, a unique and spherical ambience is created. A fictional reality or a real fiction of a future soundscape is speculatively elaborated. An auditory journey through an artistic piece of the future soundscape.

In her artistic practice she deals with the acoustic nature of our everyday environment. The characteristic, rather inconspicuous sound signature of places and circumstances is investigated, analyzed and reinterpreted compositionally. She works mainly in the field of sound ecology with field and soundscape recordings from urban environments and biodiversity. In her projects she explores the spatial dimension of sound. From this emerge multi-channel compositions, which are shown as individual pieces, or as sculptural, interactive or multi-media installations. 

Her works were shown in 2022 at Ars Electronica in Linz (A), at Open Garden in Salzburg (A), as well as in 2020 as part of the Art Week for Climate Protection at GEDOK in Karlsruhe (D) and in 2015 during the ZeitRäume Festival in Basel (CH). Her latest works will be showed in 2023 at the Kunsthaus Pasquart in Biel (CH) at the Sonic Matter Festival in Zurich (CH) and at Ars Electronica in Linz (A).
