MANUMAT sees music as a universal language. A connection and a frequency attainable between all living beings.

Living in Miami for the better part of 15 years and with roots in Colombia, France, and Spain, his sound can be described as a journey of multicultural sounds blended with electronic - but always groovy - organic sounds. New and old, fast and slow, always keeping you moving to the beat.

Through this evolution and exploration of sound, in 2015 he co-founded a boutique events company called Something Else. Aimed at creating pop-up style events with ever-changing locations and bringing fresh debuting artists from all over the world.

Hand picked by both Lemurian (co-founder) and MANUMAT, each artist selected for the pop-up is with the idea of creating a unique moment in time for everyone present.

Born in Colombia with roots in Spain and France, now living in Miami for almost  20 years, his mixed influence has created a journey of multicultural sounds that  blends electronic beats with a trippy and organic feeling. New and old, fast and  slow, always keeping you moving to that infectious beat.  

Through this evolution and exploration of sound, in 2015 he co-founded a boutique  events company called Something Else. Aimed at creating pop-up style events with  ever-changing locations and bringing fresh debuting artists from all over the world.  Hand picked by both MANUMAT and Lemurian (co-founder), each artist selected for the pop-up is with the idea of creating a unique moment in time for everyone  present. 

All the while continuing to work on his own project, MANUMAT has had the  opportunity play at festivals and venues such as Burning Man, Garbicz Festival,  Envision Festival, iii Points Festival, Nomade and Be Tulum, Yamba in Lisboa, and  cities like Berlin, London, New York, Mexico City and Oslo. 

After three years of creating Something Else and a few more growing as an artist,  MANUMAT has had the honor of sharing and playing alongside artists like: Acid  Pauli, Mira, LUM, Matanza, Oceanvs Orientalis, Crussen, Sainte Vie, Bedouin,  Nico Stojan, Billy Caso, Spaniol, Satori, M.Rux, Rampue, Lemurian, Thugfucker,  Sabo, Eduardo Castillo, Goldcap, ElPeche, Dandara and Peter Power are some of  his most memorable.  

In 2018 he began a series called ‘INTOWN with MANUMAT’ by inviting a special  guests to join him in Miami (changing locations) for intimate gatherings where they  alternate all night-long to create a unique vibe.  Some guests include: Sarah Kreis & Caleesi, Mateo, M@kossa, Martha

Hello, @manumat here :) i'm originally from Bogota, Colombia but been living in sunny Miami for over a decade. Through travel and personal growth I've come to feel the comfort of a deep and groovy kind of sound - One that explores all kinds of multicultural ideas. Ideas merged together to provide a funky but always groovy beat. Music is the universal language where I'm only but a messenger.

Alongside @lemuriansounds, MANUMAT co-created @somethingelseevents, a place where music, art and people come together to enjoy a different kind of gathering.  Where you can learn and experience new things with likeminded individuals striving to find inspiration through new music, new souls and new ways of self-expression. The Toltecs had roots in the Tolteca-Chichimeca people, who, during the 9th century CE, had migrated from the deserts of the north-west to Culhuacan in the Valley of Mexico. According to the Aztecs, the first Toltec leader was Ce Técpatl Mixcoatl (One Flint Cloud Serpent, i.e. the Milky Way), and his son Ce Acatl Topiltzin (One Reed Sacrificer, born in either 935 or 947 CE) would go on to gain fame as a great ruler and acquire the name of the great god Quetzalcoatl (‘Feathered Serpent’) amongst his titles.

Intriguingly, the Maya also had a version of a cultural hero known as the ‘Feathered Serpent’, translated as Kukulcan and contemporary with the Toltec Quetzalcóatl; this and architectural similarities, suggest that there was a close cultural link between the two civilizations.
