Midland marked the maiden voyage on his ReGraded imprint only two months ago, with his Double Feature EP. Without a second to lose, the second release is set to go, with newcomer Hubie Davison and his Sanctified EP now at the helm. The title track has become a staple of Midland's sets throughout summer, with it first entering our radars during his BR x Dekmantel set (check the exact moment it dropped here). Satisfaction so deep, it prompted Midland to contact Hubie to see if he'd consider releasing it on ReGraded. Though the label may still be in its infancy, the calibre exemplified in this second release proves it to be unparalleled.

This set is a little special for me. I have only realized recently that I’ve suffered my whole life of the fear of being abandoned. I lost someone that was precious to me when I was really young and actually never realized how much it did affect me as well as the environment I grew up into.

The Fear of abandonment is the overwhelming worry that people close to you will leave. You feel like you’re not enough, not worthy. When good things happen, instead of enjoying the moment, you’re already thinking of when it’ll be over. As those things never last long, pain and suffering ultimately come, so rather preparing mentally now.  

I always felt like I had a “problem”, but could never pinpoint what and why. Those dark thoughts flowing  in my head heavily affected me, my friends and most of all my love relationships (why would someone love me?)

I’ve worked a lot on myself those last few years and have really come a long way. Through this set and those few words I feel it’s time for me to finally let go. Maybe this will help people that would recognize themselves in my words as well :)

It’s probably not the dj best set, but I wanted to pick very different tracks from different genres, groovy, oriental, afro, emotional, melancholy, joy and more.. Hope you enjoy <3
