It's been an amazing journey of having so many different personalities roll through the station and educate us with their production, selections, knowledge, and experiences. This week Joe Kay wanted to let loose and focus strictly on his selection. Within 3 hours Joe dropped just over 100 tracks, that's right over 100! There is no live show today since Kbeach is broadcasting live from a big city event that is going on however Joe wanted to still put together a nice 60+ minute mix of some selects to hold you off until next week! Joe recorded this at the Soulection HQ and made sure to incorporate the energy that was flowing through the room that day. Shouts to Eric Coleman, Andres, J-Louis, Mike Gao, and Colta who were all vibing out with us. Joe took it back to the essence and brought back the classic feel good joints as well as his current standouts from the past couple of weeks!

Coming off a great Thanksgiving holiday week here in the States we decided to keep things focused on our selections. There was no special guest in studio with us but Joe Kay really displayed a crazy selection of music that will have you copying/pasting consistently within Google for some time. There are a lot of new tunes sprinkled with the 'feel-good' classics that we always connect to our sets. As mentioned last week, there was no live show today due to the LB State basketball game that aired during our slot -- but no worries because Joe Kay dropped a 60 minute set of some stand out selects that he either just discovered, was holding onto, and rediscovered. We played back a few cuts from last week such as the intro track by Yung Gud! God this track is a bad one even Sango is opening up with it at his recent shows. 

We went to go check out Afta-1 at his first performance back since his hiatus which inspired us to include some of his tracks in here. Also, Carmack just lost his laptop this past week and we feel really bad considering all the gold that was on there. All good though, he is already on the verge of recreating a whole other level of music with more fire to his fuel. We'll be back next Saturday with the lovely ladies Kronika, Sasha Marie, & Eden.

Coming off Grammy week connections and our 3 Year Anniversary we returned for yet another solid show. Our special guests who were scheduled for this show couldn't make it but Joe Kay brought out a variety of new and classic gems from the Soulection crates. This show was really engaging because Joe reached out to all the listeners and asked the audience what they wanted to hear via social media. It was amazing to see how many people were listening and how many people requested for a certain track. For the last hour and 1/2 you the people we're DJ'ing/selecting music! How amazing right? So many good things have been going on in our world but sometimes it is overwhelming. However we just take a deep breath and keep it moving. This week Joe Kay wanted to slow things down a bit and just focus on the music by going solo. Joe started off with some nice neo-soul/Dilla-esque vibes and then progressed into some progressive beats to get your energy flowing. Standout artists to look out for are LOSCO. These guys have a heavy, heavy sound. Just wait til you hear. As the show progressed the engagement via social media was massive and a few people randomly requested to hear a Sango tribute so we did one! Joe dropped a 42 minute set of primarily unreleased music to keep things interesting! We hope you enjoy the show and feel free to spread it to as many people as possible. Real radio is here.

As we are getting ready for SXSW we wanted to get you in the spirit. Joe Kay went solo again to keep things simple and focused. He kicked it off with the new Carmack/Esta collab, played some new discoveries/unreleased gems, and then switched up the whole format by letting the live listener selects the music by sending us our requests via our social media networks. What a beautiful thing! For over 2 hours, you had the chance to selects the music, Joe was just the provider! What a great way to collaborate right? As if this news isn't enough, we just hit 100K here on Soundcloud this past Friday literally while we launched our new residency @ the legendary Echoplex! Talk about timing and accomplishments. THANK you to each and every one of you for supporting us and spreading this sound to everyone. We plan to give you something really soon to celebrate 100K supporters worldwide and more. Big ups to the 900+ people who showed up to The Sound of Tomorrow this past Friday. Very inspiring. 

Joe Kay was struggling to make it over to the studio but some how made it with one eye open and threw down an unforgettable set full of primarily forgotten classics (No trap or heavy bass songs for once lol) that will have you reminiscing on life. What an amazing feeling it is to be back. After being away in Europe from radio for 4 weeks (which seemed like an eternity of no radio), I returned with an amazing amount of music, inspiration, and energy. I also announced that Soulection Radio will be transitioning from Kbeach over to @RinseFM (London, UK) on 106.8 FM / http://rinse.fm! 

That means our broadcast will move from Kbeach to Rinse on Saturdays from 10am-1pm (Pacific) / 6pm-9pm (GMT) / 1pm-4pm (Eastern).

This is major news. It has always been a dream of mine to be on UK Radio and I couldn't be happier to finally be on one of the most forward thinking networks in the world, especially in London. I want to give a special thanks to Danny Lemos, John Trapper, Evan, Trey, Eduardo, & many more at Kbeach for giving me a chance to use my voice and develop. I wouldn't be here right now with out the opportunity to express myself.

Special thanks to Shakira and Finn over at Rinse FM for discovering Soulection and giving us this opportunity. We can't wait to start next Saturday. Lastly, big ups to you for supporting us and making this a reality as well. Much love to everyone that we met in Europe. The energy and engagement was something that we never felt before. After a tough and hard-working week it felt good to let loose and get lost in the music that I just recently discovered and material that I re-discovered. Lets hope UMG doesn't shut this show down. I'm still working on making this show the best that it can possibly be despite me being on the road a lot lately. 

This week's highlight is really about @samgellaitry once again. The 17 year old producer is a special artist that is hard for us to stop talking about. I also went into a nice segment half way through the show where I wet through 2008-2009 golden era beats as well as some 2009-2012 classics.

It's so necessary to remember your roots and go back to where it all started with yourself. Oh yeah another thing, remember to always do what you love. Make time for it. We'll be back in Europe next month, stay tuned. -Joe Kay

Felt good to return with another stacked show full of forgotten music that I think you should rediscover or learn of. I have to say that since i've started my show on Rinse, it has been the toughest 4 weeks as far as preparing and performing the show. It's all part of the legacy though. I have never had to dig this hard in my life! I really kept this show smooth and highlighted a lot of neo-soul and melodic tracks. No matter how advanced or "future" the music keeps getting, I can't help but go back to my roots. We are still fighting a never ending battle against the majors which is why we have to dig harder but at the end of it all it will all be alright.

Welcome back, i've had to take some time off the past couple of weeks because i've been ill and fatigue. I was also congested for a month straight from traveling, lack of sleep, and hitting different climates zones -- you can hear it in my voice in the previous shows. Anyways, there wasn't a LIVE show on Rinse.FM today because they are curating special programming for their 20 year anniversary celebration this weekend and next weekend. We won't be back live on air until Saturday, October 4th. 

I couldn't go another week without doing the show so I just recorded privately on my own. I have some great music in here and tried to balance it with new and classic tracks like always. Enjoy!

Another great show full of amazing music from all over the world. I did this show from my hotel room in San Diego, shouts to Siene for helping me out. I got back after our Soulection event at club AD in downtown and put together this diverse track list of gems. I was limited on turn tables but still made it work. Last month we were fortunate enough to get Atu out to LA for his first time ever.
