Lay Down The Groove is a vinyl-focused label originally founded in Colombia in 2016 but now based in Naarm/Melbourne. After a brief hiatus, the label is back with 'Transcend', an EP by Palazzo.

'Transcend', the EP's namesake, is a bright, fun & building house jam filled to the brim with squeaks, pops & claps building over uplifting pads.

Of the release, Palazzo shared that "I’m beyond excited to release ‘Transcend,’ my debut EP. This record is deeply personal, it reflects my journey from DJing to production, the emotions I’ve processed after my mum’s passing, and my experiences over six years in Naarm/Melbourne’s music scene. Blending Latin, Balearic, Tribal, and House influences, this EP is an authentic expression of the sounds I love."

Lay Down The Groove added that "after a couple of years without releasing music on our label, we’re thrilled to be back with an EP that truly reflects the sound and spirit of Lay Down The Groove. Palazzo has been a close friend and respected figure in the scene, and his EP is an immersive ride into the music we love. We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this new chapter."

Palazzo EP is set to release via Lay Down The Groove's Bandcamp on Thursday, May 22 with a launch party at High Note that day, & at Skydiver the week following.

After Yuu Udagawa’s highly acclaimed EPs “Ride It” & “Peaceful Dawn” from last year, she’s back again in full effect presenting four classy, sophisticated and timeless jazz-electronica-house hybrid tracks for Compost.

The title track Golden Glow is a electric samba-infused broken beat gem, with joyful vocal melodies and a superfunky bassline creating a truly elevated vibe.

Reverie comes in smooth slow-motion house guise. Yuu's ethereal vocal interludes unfold in interplay with playful piano improvisations, underpinned by an irresistible groove.

The track “One More” seems to come straight out of a smoky jazz club. Jazzy piano sounds meet plucked double bass, underlaid with dreamy synth pads and Yuu's whispers from the twilight zone.

On Velvet City, Yuu unleashes her soulful vocal talent and her flair for wonderfully ambitiously produced deep house. A great, uplifting jam that appeals to both the heart and the dancing leg.

"Rosy" opens the stampede with groovy springtime melancholy: Manzo is lovesick, staring across the fence at a cow he just can’t forget. "Amare Moto" slinks in with sultry swagger, a slow and sexy jam built to get the hips moving.
