A mi esposo y a mí nos encantan las aves. Nuestro entretenimiento en cada comida es mirar lo que hacen las aves a través de las puertas corredizas de vidrio. No necesito decir que no disfrutamos de ver al gato anaranjado del vecino dando vueltas bajo nuestros cuatro comederos de aves.
Hace poco, estaba leyendo cerca de esa puerta de vidrio, cuando miré hacia afuera y vi a nuestro merodeador felino. Supe por el movimiento de su cola que algo siniestro estaba tramando. Al mirar más de cerca, observé un entretenido minidrama. Una hermosa paloma euroasiática estaba en la cerca, mirando fijamente al gato, aparentemente imperturbable ante la peligrosa situación en la que se encontraba. Me daba la impresión de que los dos animales habían decidido protagonizar un juego. La paloma desafiaba al gato a que tratara de atraparla, sabiendo que podía volar en cualquier momento. Mientras uno se mostraba apático en su grave situación, el otro, por el contrario, estaba alerta y con cada músculo de su cuerpo listo para activar la adrenalina de matar. Sus ojos, fijos en la paloma.
La paloma sabía que el gato se acercaba, entonces se movió casualmente por la cerca, un poco más cerca de su enemigo. En cierto momento, hasta le dio la espalda al gato. Yo estaba luchando conmigo misma para no espantar al gato, pero no podía; estaba paralizada por el dramático momento. Finalmente, el gato hizo otro movimiento para acercarse al ave y la paloma se fue volando.
¿Cuán a menudo nos encontramos racionalizando con nuestros pecados acariciados? Pensamos que podemos volar lejos de la tentación en cualquier momento, sin darnos cuenta de cuán mortal es nuestro enemigo, y cuán sutilmente puede convencernos de ignorar nuestra conciencia. Así que, jugamos con este gato (león/diablo). No nos damos cuenta de la rapidez con que puede atacar. Y cuando ataca, nos olvidamos de orar fervientemente a nuestro aliado y precioso amigo Jesús, para que nos dé fuerza celestial para derrotar a este mortal enemigo.
Reconocemos el peligroso mundo en que vivimos. Estamos agradecidos a Dios, quien nos ha dado valor y esperanza, al morir en la cruz por nosotros. Él nos dice: “Así que sométanse a Dios. Resistan al diablo, y él huirá de ustedes" (Sant. 4:7). Hoy necesitamos entregar todo a Dios. Es la única manera en que podremos escapar de este adversario mortal.

London experimental five-piece return for more anarchic genre-blending adventures. 

London experimental five-piece Housewives return for more anarchic genre-blending adventures with their new single 'Speak To Me'; A synthesized collage written in Wetherspoons, cafes and anywhere away from their houseboats where they could find an electrical supply. 

Exploring the possibilities of electronic sound, with dead-behind-the-eyes chanting, this latest snippet of things to come marks a turning point for the band who sold their guitars to buy midi equipment and swapped London rents for houseboat living. 

Using huge live drums, saccharine vocal samples, pulsating sub bass and mechanically entwined guitar lines; 'Speak to Me' is a sign of the bands’ new direction with a constantly evolving sound, creating an anxiety and tightness that assumes the feeling of a knot in the stomach, or a strained smile. 

The band describe it as 'a love song of frustration and sensitivity through the eyes of a victim of the isolation of modern life. Quiet but not shy, voiceless, seething, dumb and in love'. 

In the video, created by the band and our in-house art department, we're transported into a manifestation of the inescapable digital experience of our everyday lives and its effect on our psyche. The thin layer of perceptible reality is constantly disrupted via the breaking of the digital facade.
