This album introduces a new twenty-two year old artist named Mara Hruby from Oakland, CA. She arrived on the scene at the start of 2010, playing shows throughout the Bay Area, and is releasing her debut EP, From Her Eyes. Mara has worked on this album for the past nine months; she has applied her multi-talented dedication to recording, arranging, and engineering her own work. She has performed on stage, dancing and backing other artists in the Bay Area; unconsciously preparing herself for this path. She has chosen to speak through music in order to connect with those of us who love music. 

These seven tracks represent the genesis of the view “From Mara’s Eyes” of the various works of her favorite male artists. Each song is connected to a memory experience in Mara’s young life. The beauty and elegance of Van Hunt’s “Character,” Bob Marley’s love of Jah, Mos Def’s soulful poetry, André “3000” Benjamin’s “Take Off Your Cool,” as well as D’Angelo’s “Send It On” – are all examples of art forms from today’s exceptional musicians.

John Legend is an artist mature beyond his years. He is a crooner in the best possible sense of the word — self-assured, gentle and debonair. For Legend’s sophomore album Kanye West resumes his role as executive producer, but Once Again is a mellower affair than Get Lifted. The songs get their gentility from Legend’s low, cocoa-smooth vocals, which never fail to bring a potentially hyper song to a place of calm. Though Once Again features an impressive assembly of producers — including Craig Street, will.i.am and West (all contributed multiple songs) — Legend is wholly in control of the album’s tone and tempo. The hip-hop underpinnings are balanced by the elegant jazz of “Again” and “Maxine.” “Where Did My Baby Go” is so simple that it feels timeless — it could be a piece of an old album by Arthur Alexander or even Joan Baez, made new again by Legend’s warm breath. “Save Room” is a song that glides so sweetly and effortlessly that it challenges every shred of malice that might be lurking within the listener. Even sweeter is “Slow Dance,” a melody as compact and pretty as a jeweled pocketwatch.

Victor Klyuchnikov, a.k.a. Cosmonaut Grechko, is a very talented young producer that hails from Russia, and we are indeed very lucky to have him as our guess remixer this time, producing a gorgeous remix on Hior Chronik’s beautiful track, “Still Foggy (with Natalie tba Beridze)”.

The 21 years old Victor is a passionate pianist by day, and cutting-edge electronic music producer & remixer by night. He has been producing many remixes that attracted thousands of followers in spaces like soundcloud, with most notable works include his splendid version of Yeah Yeah Yeah's hit “Maps” and a re-imagining of Tokyo electronic artist aus' popular track, “Headphone Girl”.

Originally a quiet, minimal and intimate track, Victor has decided to go for something more upbeat in this rework, while keeping the atmosphere of the original. “A sad song with a smile. This is what I want to make.” With this idea in mind, Victor carefully laid down some of his stylist signature beats onto the layers of beautiful synth pads. While he masterfully dripped in some of the most melancholy notes of electronic piano, bells, and a wash of noise into the mix, Victor slowly build up the intimate atmosphere with some clever pieces of Natalie’s hauntingly beautiful vocal, riding on the club-friendly rhythm, and elegant piano phrases. Beautiful, but yet, sad. 

This is undoubtedly a darn gorgeous remix, a wonderful treat for both indie-electronic fans and club-goers, a sad song that you will listen with a smile. 

Remember this name, Cosmonaut Grechko, a name that you will definitely hear a lot again in 2013. Meanwhile, we hope you will enjoy this remix, a wonderful teaser of what will be coming out from the young Victor Klyuchnikov in 2013.
