“Divergently ambitious” only just scratches the surface behind attempting to recite the musical & creative mind of Sam McGovern.

The 23 year old singer songwriter & guitarist introduced himself as a sensitive acoustic artist, which he still expresses, yet progressively develops his sonics with each release. His unique sound, dynamic performances & smart marketing are steadily captivating awareness to his name around the globe.

Growing up & currently residing in Perth, Western Australia, one of the most remote cities in the world, many could blame location as an excuse for growth, Sam incarnates an opposed mindset, Western Australia has created the optimal foundation through a deep desire for amplification.
In 2020, Sam graduated from the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), a platform which became an inaugural point in his career. 
Thereafter, he has capitalised on his home town, constantly growing, in fact 'Grow” his debut release received a nomination for Western Australian Music (WAM) Song of The Year 2021, later in 2023 “Memory” following in those footsteps with another nomination.

Sam appeared as a contestant on “The Voice Australia” for Season 11 2022. His blind audition turned 2 chairs (Keith Urban & Jessica Mauboy) & gained praise from all 4 judges. Sam worked with Keith Urban during the show. 

From the hot concrete streets busking, to the most iconic venues across the country, Sam is steadily solidifying his place in Australia’s live music scene as a name to watch, selling out headline shows & drawing huge audiences across Australia.
With 2 national support tours under his belt & a long list of well known acts he has performed alongside, (such as Harrison Storm, Ziggy Alberts, The Hollow Coves, Riley Pearce & many more) Sam McGovern is gradually joining the ranks of Australian household names.

Sam’s recent single “Memory” has a unique story, going viral on Instagram, TikTok & Facebook 2 months after release. The extremely original & quirky styled promotion campaign through approaching strangers & singing amassed over 35 Million organic views to his socials, gaining him over 300 Thousand Instagram followers, over 50 Thousand TikTok followers, Unbelievably all within the short timeframe of 30 days.
The most viral video receiving over 20 Million total views over all platforms of him singing “Memory” to an unsuspecting stranger in public.
His courageous approach to promoting himself & his music has attracted local & national radio, media & TV attention, recently appearing on Channel 9’s “The Today Show” as a guest discussing his viral campaign to support Coldplay when they perform in Perth on November 2023.

At a glance, it would be logical to assume Sam’s career to have had an abundance of “team” support behind the project, this couldn’t be any further from the truth. Being independent since day 1, through pure passion, ambition & hunger into his craft, Sam has accumulated every ounce of success solely as an individual & independent artist.
