Ancylus Lake is a name given by geologists to a large freshwater lake that existed in northern Europe approximately from 8,750 to 7,850 years BC, being in effect one of various predecessors to the modern Baltic Sea.
Traces of the Ancylus Lake can be found today at the exact spot where I live, at the West Coast of Sweden close to the Norwegian border. If you know where to look.

Cyclic Cycle

First there was a common funky beat for 2 minutes or so. Then there was a bass played during those 2 minutes in a complete improv mood. Then a nylon guitar came breaking time. Then a steel guitar came bending time. Then some djembes, shakers and seeds came defying the beat and eliminating it.

In the spirit of mixing traditional instruments with free jazz approach, a simple though "we are lost in time" emerges.

i live/work by a huge military base, you never know what kind of war sounds are going to pop in
you otherwise mostly peaceful forest life
machine guns are a favorite, but droning mystery hums,  bombs sounds, and aircraft noise have staring roles. the best is TAPS at night 10 pm, a bugle thing in the morning 6 am (hard to hear over traffic sounds), and sometime meal time bugles.

when your otherwise peaceful life is punctuated by sounds from military practice
