In ancient Roman religion and myth, Janus  is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces.  Janus presided over the beginning and ending of conflict, and hence war and peace.

In many ways, Elizabeth is the most heroic character in Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". Her love of Frankenstein holds steady despite his obsessive and erratic behaviour. The book says much about the dangerous follies of obsessive men and the tragic consequences for the people close to them. 
The guitar is a Takamine New Yorker... what a fine electrical pick-up it has, but it does pick up the slighted movement! I used a variety of delays (low res, particle verb) and a phaser to create a "ghost" to the guitar.
The picture is taken from a portrait of Mary Shelley.

Landscape I.

in 2009 I moved into The Rat Palace, a studio in Hobart. Its been the epicentre of so many projects and I have shared the space with some amazing artists of all disciplines. I have hard drives full of jams from this time and will share a few over the next little while as a way of saying farewell to the space. This one is from August this year when myself ( Bass) and old band mates from an outfit called Hexfarm Dane Renshaw (Drums) and Phil Bywater ( Tenor Sax) found ourselves all in the same country for the first time in many years. So we dusted off some musical cobwebs one evening. The photo is of the last Ute load leaving the studio, Intonarumori strapped on the back - not quite sure where the next studio is yet !
