Birds Of Mind end their year with ‘Journey’, a magically mellow new album on Kindisch. 

Birds of Mind is made up of Paris-based duo Alex H. and Adrian C. Alex studied filmmaking in NYC and picked up a passion for electronic music while traveling the globe. He now spends half his year DJing on the island of Mykonos and is inspired by being close to nature. Adrian was born into a Venezuelan family of classical music artists, studied the violin and piano at the Conservatory of Paris then made his way into musique concrète. Together they compose music that is electronic but nourished by the exploration of organic sounds and ancient chants. Birds Of Mind will return to Get Physical in 2022 after debuting there in 2019, but before that comes this immersive new album. It is a spiritual, peaceful and loving record with a very natural presence. 

'Birth Of The Phoenix' opens up with four minutes of ambient pads and swirling, wordless vocals that are immediately soothing. The deliciously deep and delicate 'Mindgame' sinks you into a heartfelt house groove, and dubby cut 'The Tree of Knowledge' is embellished with intoxicating vocals, found sounds and plenty of natural sonic details. 'La Maison Bleue' is clean and elegant, with celestial melodies lifting your spirits before cosmic ambient piece 'It's Me' brings lush layers of synths to take you ever higher. 
The second half of the album plays out with the floating grooves and expressive Spanish vocals of 'Wing Flapping,' romantic late-night house and deft instrumentation of 'Dropping Seeds of Life' and the melancholic lullaby that is 'Inside Your Head.' Deep bass and intoxicating jazzy sax define the supple 'The Void Between Us' and 'Finale' closes down with gorgeously optimistic chords, cosmic motifs and glassy melodies that beam down from the heavens. 

‘Journey’ is a perfectly escapist listen from two talented artists.

Italian mainstay Nicolo Simonelli debuts on Junior Jack’s ever-growing Adesso Music on November 7 with ‘Sukano’ – a rich and emotive Afro house journey that reflects his evolving sonic palette.

Across a storied 15+ year career, Simonelli has explored all corners of house and techno, weaving in elements of melodic, indie, and tech sounds. His catalog includes releases on some of the scene’s most vital labels, such as Carl Cox’s Intec Digital, Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD, Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds, and Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records. In 2020, he teamed up with close friend and frequent collaborator OniWax to launch the Reenboog imprint – a creative outlet pushing deeper into the realms of Afro house and organic rhythms, as showcased here on his Adesso Music debut. 

‘Sukano’ sees Simonelli further refining that direction. Glowing piano chords and pulsating bass flicker like fading embers amongst rolling organic percussion, while smoky, emotive vocals evoke a sense of late-night introspection and raw vulnerability. Outlaw Knight twists the release into almost proto breaks territory, a real curveball. 

Lizards complete the package with their signature pulsing and melancholy sound.

Exporter la culture électro des clubs aux jardins, pelouses, ruelles et cafés de Nîmes, c’est le pari risqué du festival Animé depuis maintenant 10 ans.

Le festival qui a su s’imposer comme le rendez vous estival de la culture électro fête cette années ses dix ans ! L’occasion d’expérimenter de nouvelles envies, tout en restant fidèle aux valeurs et atouts qui ont fait son succès. Fidèles, les organisateurs œuvrent pour un retour aux sources en réinvestissant les Jardins de la Fontaine, site historique qui a vu naître leur projet. Ambitieux, en proposant un plateau artistique à la fois riche, pointu et alléchant.

Le pape de la tech house, l’argentin Barem viendra marquer la soirée de son emprunte musicale : basses puissantes et mélodies envoutantes pour un set sombre et hypnotique. Plus chaleureux, Miguel Campbell nous plongera dans la hype de Hot Creation, les pieds dans l’eau direction Ibiza avec des hits deep house, ondulations garanties. Techno froide et industrielle pour The Hacker, dont la collaboration avec Gesaffelstein marque son grand retour sur les scènes des clubs et festivals les plus en vue. Nhar viendra également nous chahuter les oreilles et les corps avec un live planant entre deep house et cold wave, forcément grisant.  Pour compléter ce plateau international, l’association Woh lab convie les dj’s issus de la scène électro Sud florissante. Les figures de proues des petits matins électro, résidents du légendaire Bar Live Cebb & Sandy viendront présenter en live  leur nouveau projet « Between us ». À leurs côtés, celui qui multiplie les dj’s sets outre Manche, Laurent Wild viendra enchainer ses plus grands hits nu disco. Aux manettes de tubes pop, productions techno et hits house, Greg Delon. Celui qui s’amuse à nous porter vers des  contrées underground sait aussi bien composer la bande son d’un été pétillant.  À la fois fondateurs de Woh Lab et du festival Animé, il était donc naturel que Greg Delon vienne souffler les bougies derrière les platines, accompagné de Mister K.

Effervescence musicale au programme de ce dixième anniversaire d’Animé, qui transformera les Jardins de la fontaine en dancefloor géant !
