'We are happy to announce a new EP of Berlin duo YEAH BUT NO - THE SHADOW SELF Pt. I.  After a longer break something new is born. The newly assembled band has a declared aim: to allow its listeners a deeper understanding of music. The multilayered sound savours the melancholic spectrum; deeper and darker tones set the perfect stage for profound lyrics.

"Electronic music is our background.", Fabian says. Alex: "We linked classic song structures with distinctive, immersive sounds that open up a world for Fabian’s lyrics.“ The lyrics perfectly capture these fragile, dark emotions that move us unconsciously - may it be the loss of love, disappointment or an unhealthy, dark obsession.

The original versions of 'Perished' and 'Curse' are accompanied by remix versions from no one less than Trikk and Mathias Schober.
 
The internationally acclaimed producer and DJ Trikk - not only known for his work with Dixon & Âme’s Innervisions label, but also as a representative of the next generation of underground house music - hits the nail on the head with his interpretation of „Perished“. Keeping the melancholic mood of the original, he managed to create a super catchy and grooving 4-to-the-floor version. The remix is already being hyped since its first plays on DJ’s sets from Dixon, Mind Against, Denis Horvat, Agoria, Adriatique, Alex Niggemann & Trikk himself.

Mathias Schober is an artist with an exceptional sense of clarity and presence in his work. His reworks of 'Curse' lay the focus on the vocal and create a stripped back, spacious and dub influenced fundamental. The instrumentation eerie enough to accompany the lyrics, the groove strong enough to work on its own.
The album "The Shadow Self“ is released in several parts on DISTANT ECHOS - a new label that defines itself as a bastion of quality and a broad musical variety with leanings towards Electronica and Neo Pop. The label kicked off their journey with the debut EP from Maltese Duo KNTRL “JUST WORDS“, which was released on the 6th of August.'

A lot of roads seem to be leading to Israel for @renaissance-recordings. Following Magit Cacoon’s superb Argy revision and a soon to be seen remix from Chaim & Jenia Tarsol (watch this space), there can be no denying the sheer weight and calibre coming out of the country.

Further proof, as if that weren’t enough, now comes in the form of Jos & Eli’s SOS EP.

The intrepid Israeli duo arrive at @renaissance-recordings on a hot streak, following releases on Watergate, Armada, Stil Vor Talent, Dear Deer and more… With the SOS EP they deliver two absolute corkers that, in their trademark fashion, blur the lines between melodic techno and indie.

The seventh EP of the label will be by the name of the Bolivian, Barcelona based, producer IVA (@ivamusic). The EP consists of three originals of which the title track is in collaboration with Vero Pérez on the vocals. Besides the talented producer Arude (@arudeofficial) managed to create an intriguing remix.

The title track of the EP is called ‘Distorted’. It’s an driving track with captivating vocals. When the driving synth and the vocals are coming together, an energetic moment is created which swallows you into the track.

A no-nonsense brute of a tune that couldnt be more Selador if Dave Seaman & Steve Parry had spawned a lovechild, (apologies if that is now an image you cannot unsee!) its unwavering driving bassline providing the foundation for some detuned arp work to rise and fall in climatic waves.

All of which comes accompanied by the equally dynamic Overdue. Another peak time offering that this time brings a more melodic sensibility to the fore. Packed with a visceral energy that takes you to places youd almost forgotten existed, now were just showboating ;)
