The first successful year of our ambitious club-label draws to a close now and we proudly look back on five superb releases from our residents Patryk Molinari, Kuriose Naturale, Madmotormiquel, Schlepp Geist, Mario Aureo & Manuel Moreno. As though by chance a selection of them feature as a main part on our next project as well - The "Five Years Lost" compilation which has stemmed from the celebration of the clubs five year anniversary which will take place from 2nd till 5th of October 2014.
This compilation contains 12 multifarious tracks by well-known and fresh producers out of the Ritter Butzke sphere. From Deep and Tech-House, across Minimal to Techno, right up to Disco and Progressive - everything is featured here. We want to showcase a wide range of quality electronic music in the release that well represents the sound of the club, past, present and of course future. 
Unfortunately it would break the mould if we go into every single track stylistically - that's why we just want to briefly introduce the artists one by one: firstly “CrossfronTier" Marc Poppcke, "friend of the family" Bela Brandes, "Dikso-Boy" Daniel Solar, "kind soul" Don Brazo, "the dynamic duo" Mario Aureo & Manuel Moreno, "the bold wolves" Kuriose Naturale, "Mr. Vibe" Patryk Molinari, "Freundentaumler" Chris Hanke, "Plötzlich princesses" Beddermann & Dahlmann, "master clean" Putzlicht, "team exit" Wasted Ruffians and "head chef" Andre Schaaf. In short, a real plethora of names and music that you don't need to enhance by words but rather let the musical contributions speak for themselves.
We are truly happy to see this project grow and continue to do so into next year and beyond.

For Getting Deeper's 71st podcast, Mark Tarmonea has taken us back to our soulful roots. It's really refreshing to go back to something more melodic and warm after a long stretch of deep, spacey sounds. What I particularly love about Mark's set is his choice of tracks and how he has strung them together to create a wonderful progression. 

The set begins with lush, rooftop tracks. The vibe is of open air, sunny rooftop sessions with a cozy and comforting functionality. What happens next is a gradual blooming of grandiose stretches and soaring melodies... and boom, that's when the set opens up into hypnotic beats and intoxicating... almost enchanting synths. 

This is one of the few sets on Getting Deeper that are absolutely banging for most kinds of dancefloors. Moving to the set is a direct result of beautiful and heady trips that are so easy to get lost into. I love it. I love how easy it is to lose yourself to this set. 

We hope that the set does the same to you as it does to us. 

Thank you Mark for such a heartwarming set. It's absolutely lovely.

Ground-breaking label Sonar Kollektiv are celebrating their 21st birthday with a massive compilation from their back catalogue.  ‘Sonar Kollektiv 21 Years’ covers releases from the last two decades, showcasing the labels wonderfully broad approach to A&R, as well a bunch of unreleased treats.  German DJ/Producer collective Jazzanova launched the label in 1997, in the atmosphere of creative freedom following the fall of the Berlin Wall. At the heart of it all, the label is about quality and a passion for new music.

On this track ‘Walk With Me(Human Error) by The Black 80s, Jazzanova & Fetsum.  Sonar Kollektiv started the project ‘Sonar Konnekting’ where they invited 3 musicians to the Jazanova recording studios to write a track together.  It has Hollis P Monroe (The Black 80s) and Berlin based soul singer Fetsum making us all feel very Christmassy!

Sonar Kollektiv 21 Years is a celebration of commitment to quality.  The music is made with passion, from music lovers, for music lovers.

Neve Naive released their debut album in 2013 and 1 EP in 2015. The producer of Neve Naive is also the trombone player of the Jazzanova Live Band. This remix is from Hollis P Monroe (of The Black 80s) and is exclusively on this compilation

Ground breaking label Sonar Kollektiv are celebrating their 21st birthday with a massive compilation from their back catalogue. Including a bunch of exclusive unreleased treats, Sonar Kollektiv 21 Years’ consists of two volumes with a total of sixty tracks covering releases from the last two decades that showcase their wonderfully broad approach to A&R.

German DJ/Producer collective Jazzanova launched the label in 1997, in the atmosphere of creative freedom following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Sonar Kollektiv have always released a wide range of music, some of it targeted at dancefloors, some not: electronica, house, reggae, techno, folk, funk, calypso, dream pop, chillwave and jazz have all found a home at Sonar Kollektiv with quality and a passion for new music as the consistent common denominators.

Picking only 60 tracks from the nearly 400 releases of their back catalogue has been something of a challenge but familiar names like Isoul8, Mieke Miami, Jah Wobble, Recloose, Jonatan Bäckelie, Micatone, Radio Citizen, Pete Josef and of course Jazzanova are all represented with at least one track.

Highlights from Volume 1 include the unreleased Black 80s and Jazzanova track Walk With Me featuring Fetsum on vocals, a gorgeous, sparse sonic space where crisp house beats meet with simple piano chords to create a sophisticated restrained musical bed for Fets u m s vocal to luxuriate in. In keeping with their distinctive idiosyncratic style, Sonar Kollektiv aren t celebrating a 20th birthday, they re celebrating their 21st. T he label s 20th anniversary was in 2016, but due to a packed release schedule it had to be postponed till now. This late arrival is a result of
prioritising their artists careers and music over their brand. And of course, in prioritising music over brand, Sonar Kollektiv have unintentionally created one of the strongest brands in contemporary electronic music. ‘Sonar Kollektiv 21 Years’ is a celebration of commitment to quality; this is music made with passion, from music lovers, for music lovers.
