CUBED

TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. "And after a line, another line" (Serbo-Croatian: I poslije linije, linija) is a flippant reference to Yugoslavia's nostalgic lament 'And after Tito - Tito!' Oh how the ethical goalposts of the past are moved, again and again.

As Zarkoff warns: don't turn your back on the golden youth!

Biography: 
Tommy Köler at the age of 16 discovered his love for electronic music. At that time he was inspired by music sets of Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Karotte and many other artists. He also had a big interest in spinning records. Tom began to create Mixes... He put on records in many reputable locations in his homeland and at numerous radio stations like Sputnik Radio for example. He showed his brilliant DJ skills at many parties, listen to his wonderful mix.

This time, Tom has recorded a special mix to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our signature podcast, DUBBISM.
