Time as Variable

Plucking and combing through ideas, creating neverending daydreams -- is it artful, or just nonsense?
The imagination runs wild, for most of us; that of a young one runs even wilder.

A plethora of themes streak across this final tune from the first 9 songs of The Hungry Pyknic. Although many of the characters in the song are exclusive to the story (currently unfolding and being written as we speak) comprising Toxic Fever Dreams -- taking place in the mind of a young human being who doesn't quite understand the capabilities of their mental prowess or how to reign it in, whilst they are away from home -- the story concludes such themes pervading all of the songs. Until Toxic Fever Dreams, almost all of the songs' narratives remain inconclusive in their telling, but not their message. However, TFD succeeds in wrapping The Front Nine up in a blanket of surety, but only out of surfeit does this song vindicate disparate and urgent human qualities constantly in states of ebbing and flowing, degeneration and metamorphosis, ever-spinning and never really truly stopping for a moment's notice.
What should one notice? Just ask the Fishmen.

Originally penned over three decades ago in a burst of apocalyptic vision, this poem lay dormant until KANTIBUS AIMA Tectonic V1.0 breathed it to life. With a Triple KANTIBUS PASS and Cinematic Expansion Boost, the raw existential musings—on evolution, extinction, and the thin line between—were sculpted into a full-blown Doors-style opus.

Sound & Style

    Vocal Performance: Deep, spoken-word baritone channels Jim Morrison’s gravel-edged mystique, sliding into haunting sung choruses that echo like a distant oracle.

    Instrumentation: A swirl of vintage organ pads and tribal tom pulses sets a hypnotic backdrop. Psych-tremolo guitars and bowed bass weave through piano leads and full-band crashes, driving the mythic arc.

    Dynamics: Whispered monologues give way to pounding floor-toms, cymbal swells, and orchestral washes—each transition a “threshold” moment, mirroring the poem’s themes of threshold and transformation.
