As droplets dance across the Netarts Bay 
Eagles soar between the clouds
And sun peeks out to shine upon your face

A seal in the surf rolling in joy
darts in and out along the waves
A baby otter on her momma’s chest
Lets out a yawn then wants to play

Awakening a hope 
To catch a glimmer of Northern Lights

We loaded up our traps
And set the boat to float across the Netarts Bay 
I shucked a bunch of oysters 
while we waited for the crabs to come our way
This showering of light
That rushes over us as dusk begins to fade
Leaves us struck with awe and wonder
As the boat so gently glides into the haze

The Northern Lights

For those turning to music for solace, "No Going Back," by Brian Gore and Grammy winner Jim Kimo West, expresses the hope for finding the strength to move forward, even amid life's ashes. Written from the perspective of a Maui fire survivor, this song was originally intended as a metaphoric look at the smoky ruins of a relationship. In light of the fires in Los Angeles, where Kimo West, who is also the guitarist for Weird Al, resides, the lyrics now take on an eerily prophetic tinge. The song, hauntingly beautiful and sadly prescient, is now also a reflection on the sheer scale of tragedy facing fire victims in California. All online sale proceeds are to be donated to the LA fire victims.

On New Years Eve near Burnside
They numb their sorrow
Hidden in the trees

A mad man in the street
Who could be you or me
Screaming senseless words
At someone we can’t hear or see
Like a crazy prayer for justice
For cards to be reshuffled
Equally

With the sunset in my eyes

We try at all 

I have an untold story
